I saw Neil DeGrasse Tyson speak at USC tonight. He was awesome. Obviously super smart, but also great at connecting with people who have no science background.

Yeah, I saw him in Chattanooga about a year ago, and it was awesome. Went out of his way to make sure kids got to ask questions, too.

I saw him in San Diego a couple years ago. Really cool. Kinda sucked because the Q&A got cut short so he could make a flight, but still fun.

I can only imagine this forum scares away those most likely to benefit from its content.
"The idea that the market will solve such things as environmental concerns, as our racial divides, as our class distinctions, our problems with educating and incorporating one generation of workers into the economy after the other when that economy is changing; the idea that the market is going to heed all of the human concerns and still maximise profit is juvenile. . . Are we all in this together or are we all not?" - David Simon, creator of The Wire

Wow, this was posted a long time ago, but did you ever end up finding it? That kind of thing is very interesting to me.

    Thanks.

I contemplate the similarity of situations/growth on a micro and macro level on a daily basis. If you really dig deep and analyze something, it's crazy how everything is so connected and works in the same general way. I wish there was more research done on it, but I guess it's a pretty tough thing to pinpoint.

Yeah, and then you never know where to draw the line. Like what fits in with this and what is just you generalizing something enough to make it fit into the topic.

Have you heard about the magic number(or ratio) in life. I don't remember it now, and would honestly have to dig for it, but I remember learning of it when I was younger and thinking that it seemed so crazy.
