Albert has a few more good seasons then he's going to start breaking down unless he moves to DH by then he isn't going to put up those kind of numbers. Which I'm sure they will move him to DH.

Not to turn this into an Albert discussion, but I still can't help being excited over his recent surge.

Meh. I haven't really paid attention since he's not a Cardinal anymore.

He's like a nice car. Fun to look at, but not so much fun to pay for, especially once it starts breaking down.

    Let's call it a Beamer

But we bought the Beamer for 5 grand, drove it for 10 years.

Then we sold it to car dealership for two draft picks worth (say 1 grand) and then they turned around and sold that 10 year old beamer to the Angels for 12 grand (compare what he made with the Cards to what he will make with the Angels).

    Same car lol.

that's how ridiculous the signing was.

Buster Olney said today that Lohse is due for a deal similar to Mark Buehrle

    4/58

I about fell out of my chair with laughter.

thank God Olney isn't the Cards GM.

but, sadly, that's what Boras will probably ask for him.

But it's ridiculous, and I would never give it to him.

It's scary because Moz might feel a need to keep Lohse.

Eugh. Scott Boras. Is there a more hated agent in baseball?

Dan Lozano might be the slimiest, though.

I think lohse will get 3 years and 36 mil. I wouldn't be surprised. I think we won't resign him. If that's the case I sure as heck hope that miller is ready to come pitch in the bigs.

He is probably looking for a 3-4 year deal. Personally I'd give him 2 years maybe with an option for a third. Lohse would be a great insurance pitcher if Garcia and Carp don't come back strong. Can't deny he has been great for us. Just a lot of variables at the moment.

This is the pitching the Cards need.

Depending on the health of his knee, Jason Bartlett would be a good option to 'check-in' on before August 31.

If his knee is healthy. You can give him some back-up plate appearances be a good defensive replacement in late innings. He is a good defensive shortstop that has been good before (few years now) offensively. If his knee is sharp, he would fit this team well, and you can send Jackson back to Triple A.

Not fully endorsing this, but if his knee is healthy, I would give him the league minimum and send Jackson back down for the remainder of the year.

I thought about this when he was released.

I kinda wonder though at this point if he's more interested in just taking the rest of the year off
