No, I think this is more of testament to how great of an agent he has.

I kept telling myself I wasn't going to dip into free agency but I decided to shoot a few offers off anyways. I give a guy the EXACT offer he got in the real world (which obviously makes me look foolish given the nature of the game) and lost out to one team who gave him more than what John Tavares' new contract gives him haha.

One team offered him CAPTAINCY for god's sake haha. The second I posted my offer I saw that and said "welp" haha

desperately looking for a #1 defenseman. I've even visited the idea of pulling a 3 way deal with Nashville in which the other team gets Weber and I get another top defenseman. If you don't have many prospects to move for him this could greatly benefit you as now insteado f trading a lot of young players, you could trade another defenseman in which you upgrade for Weber. (idk how far along McJoe is in negotiations for him however) PM if you have interest in such a deal and maybe propose something we can bring to the table.
