and no **** if you take this to the general discussion board they will say basketball is more followed, there are more basketball related members on this site
Not really there are more neutral fans like me who don't really care either way. Whichever team is more successful we'll follow. Everyone here in Toronto was high on hockey back in like 04-06 when we had chances at the playoffs and stuff ever since those years hockeys really soured in our city.

Like I understand what your trying to say but there is much more to the attendance story then you tthink

Also, basketball signed a new 10 year CBA last year that will continue to make the sport more unpopular. The Lebron decision started a downfall in this sport that will allow the players complete control. You said it yourself...Hockey has more parody. That normally leads to more popularity. In every sport, including basketball, the small market teams suffer. The finanicaly system in hockey is 2nd only to football in creating parody. This will allow small market teams to stay competitive, such as LA this year and TB/Carolina just recently...basketball doesn't have that and fans are tiring of it...before the end of the current NBA CBA, hockey will be more popular...book it!

Also, football dominates everything, so does it even matter.
I agree about Philly they used to be all ball but after Iverson left and that whole finals screw job against the Lakers people gave up on basketball in that city and ya i forgot about Detorit I'll give you that one to thats a hockey city to even when the Pistons had success they weren't that great with popularity.
But I disagree big time about the Leafs its just not the same as it was 5 6 years ago. I would've agreed wtih you in 2005 but now in 2012 its really different here. The cities become more and more diverse and as thats happening hockey has taken a downward spiral here its still famous but not as great as it used to be..

You said basketball is more popular in Canada, and to prove it brought up the NHL final between New Jersey and L.A.

And yet the Laughs still sell out every game. How many times did the Raps sell out last season?

Just look at the amount of posters in the NHL forum compared to the NBA forum its retty easy to see
I laughed pretty hard there. How the hell are you from Toronto?

Also, the NHL forum has a good core of guys. Knowledgeable.

Hockey Markets are becoming more broad, and when Phoenix moves, and hopefully Florida.. Hockey will have taken over Basketball.. it probably won't be close either. Basketball SEEMS more popular simply because of those douchebags on ESPN.. that's all.
Why Florida? Look into that one.

Losing Hartnell Jagr Timonen and JVR and replacing them with Schenn Parise Murray Faksa and possibly Semin makes me worst? I don't see how.

    One word: Bryzzzzz !!!!!

    Sorry, I couldn't resist...LOL

Seriously, as a Flyers fan, I like it. Don't think Semin is a "prototypical" Flyers but its a mock, not like yocan wait until next year.
