    Mavs in Limbo

The Mavs blew up their championship roster with the hope of retooling with Deron Williams but now that their 6th man bolted and Deron didn't go there......Reports say Shark Tank is doing well.

What should the Mavs do now?

who needs Deron Williams? Just trade for JJ Barea and they will be champs guaranteed.

    I'd guess:
Plan A) Hope that Dwight is still a free agent next offseason and sign him.
Plan B) Enjoy being old for a couple years, have some fun, acquire some assets, then in the bumper 2014 FA have all the cap room in the world and an enticing owner.

I think they'll probably sign Dragic and some other second tier guys, though. Could put together a decent team.

They should sign Nash for 2 or 3 years, retool a little, make one last run at another ring like the Celtics and then completely restart with loads of cap space once Dirk and Nash retire.
    Magic. Red Sox. Colts. Knights.

They'll simply have to kill themselves to get out of it. In other words: Re-build.

All the mavs fans guaranteed they would get deron or dwight too .

I would be pissed if I were a mavs fan right now because cuban gave up a chance to defend the franchise's 1st title just to acquire 1 of those two in free agency.

Letting chandler, butler, stevenson, barea and now terry was a ****in mistake. Thank god i hate Cuban.

Poor Mark Cuban (not that I really care about Jason Kidd)

a few weeks ago he was smoking Skip Bayless, now he's getting smoked on the NBA free agent market.

Ya'll acting like resigning chandler, and barrea would have allowed em to repeat...Let's see how things go after free-agency is over...The West is still pretty weak remember

Nah. Those guys weren't worth their price tags long-term. Chandler might POSSIBLY have been, but that's more than arguable. I liked the move then, and missing out on Deron sucks, but I don't exercise revisionist history. Cap space + crafty management= opportunity, both this year, and more importantly, in coming years

And lol at the fans of teams that have never won a title talking smack. Cuban knows what he's doing. They also have won a title. That's a good franchise.

I must say that if Dallas can land either Nash or Nash Jr. (Dragic), then the biggest loss of today becomes Jason Terry, who I would like to have kept for MLE with no D-Will.
