Garrison wants 6.5... which is out of the Canucks price range

The Canucks know they need to improve their defensive depth, but if it's going to cost upwards of $6 million to bring in a solid second pairing defenseman, they may want to re-think things. Even with the ever-increasing salary cap, that is a crazy amount of money to commit to a defenseman with one good offensive season.

Spending some time trying to get Keith Ballardís game back together may be a good starting point. After all $4.2 million doesnít look so bad for the underwhelming, third-pairing defenseman at the moment...

    That is just absolutely ridiculous.

"You want to talk about a guy who makes the team? He is Michael Jordan. Their defense sucks. Every game, he has to outscore everybody. If I was to draft tomorrow any player in the NFL, it would be Andrew Luck one, Aaron Rodgers two." - Anonymous NFL GM talking about Andrew Luck

You're not kidding. The guy had one big season and before that he scored what 5 goals at most? So hard to pick up talent during free agency. It'll have to come down to trades again I'm afraid.

If Garrison is "worth" 6.5, Doan will be worth 17.5.
"When you have limitations and you understand your limitations and you stay within yourself, you can be great," Kobe Bryant said. "You know what you can do and what you can't do. In America, it's a big problem for us because we're not teaching players how to play all-around basketball. That's why you have Pau and Marc [Gasol], and that's the reason why 90 percent of the Spurs' roster is European players, because they have more skill."

Which means we're screwed. Gillis isn't bold enough.

Wonderful . I would rather put in an extra mil per season to go get Shea Weber than pay Garrison 6.5...
