    Colby Armstrong's being bought out

    FriedgeHNIC

Armstrong bought out today. May not have worked out in Toronto, but he's a hell of a guy. He'll work hard to make an impact elsewhere.

Colby Armstrong is being bought out by TOR. Will be on unconditional waivers at 12 noon ET.

Kind of a pointless move if Burkie goes out and signs Prust to a 2+ M deal tomorrow imo. Seriously wish Armstrong could have stayed healthy, but no room on the team with Kadri/Frattin basically ready. And 3M is way to much to have on your 4th line getting 6 minutes a night.

    2M in cap space.

We got 14.8 now apparently. I don't really see the point unless a trade is coming. He only had 1 year left on his deal at 3M. Interesting for sure, must be expecting something to buy him out just to gain 2M in cap.

Hopefully this spot is for D'Amigo in the bottom 6. Now MacArthur/Lombardi needs to move so Kadri/Frattin have a spot.

Armstrong will have a cap hit of 1 mil for the next 2 seasons. Burke just opened up 2 mil extra in cap space.
Instead of buying our armstrong, I would have buried him in the minors.
This has to lead to a trade or a big day tomorrow?!?

I think Burke will avoid placing big $$$ in the minors until he sees how FA will go AND how bad the punishment is for teams that do (under the next CBA).

If BB were to buy-out Lombardi too he will have freed up almost $4M in cap space... that almost buys you Broduer. Interesting.

ok, your crazy. I can't stand Komi, Connolly's mistakes aren't as costly as Komi's IMO. I obviously hate both of them but Komi a little more

Yes, he's crazy. You can count on Connolly only playing 30-40 games/season anyways. There's also a chance that he gets hurt bad enough to be put on LTI, and his number then doesn't count against the cap... I'm seriously not saying that to be horrible or morbid either, it's just the way his career has trended. If he is healthy for 82, he could quite likely put up 50 points.
