Atlanta aggressively going after Josh Smith for Gasol deal

The Atlanta Hawks have aggressively tried to trade power forward Josh Smith to the Lakers for Pau Gasol, initially expressing interest in Gasol shortly after Oklahoma City eliminated the Lakers in the Western Conference semifinals, The Times has learned. Smith has been unhappy in Atlanta for more than a year, his dissatisfaction starting after the 2010-11 season because he felt he was an unfair target of criticism by coaches and media members

The Lakers would be insane to not accept this trade.

makes no sense for the magics to get back a player thats eventually gonna do the same thing dwight did

I'm extremely estatic if I'm a Laker fan. You get younger, and more athletic with this move.

Btw this would put Horford @ the 4 position and would really shine there especially with Pau's passing ability to find frontcourt teamates while on the block

haha Kobe and jump shooting Smith. Have fun.

Gasol and Horford could play well together.

Seems like a fair deal. Gasol and Horford would be so legit.

Atlanta would no doubt have the best front court in the East with this move. Hopefully for the Laker's sake Smith and Bynum don't bang heads and Kobe could get Smith to play like a PF that can't shoot 3's.

Are you suggesting Kobe and Smith are equal at their ability to make a jumpshot???

If they include a first rounder I think the lakers should consider it.
