I'm a Jays fan and he's my favourite pitcher of all-time, so I'm excited on a personal level. On a fan level, I'm not sure he'll be able to handle the AL East.

But at the same time, our pitching is pathetic right now because of injuries and he can't be worse than Jesse Chavez.

Hope they move him into a long reliever, I think he would be more effective, and possibly pitch again next season.

Moyer and Vizquel combined on one team?

I don't see this mattering at all, even with the Jays injuries to the rotation.

Not official but we just heard in the booth that Jamie Moyer has signed with the Blue Jays and will be with their AAA club Thu in Tacoma.

Seriously..there is no one with upside they can call up or sign? I never understood moves like this.

He also played for Texas and St. Louis (Moyer played for the Cards) and Colorado (Moyer again).

Oliver didn't pitch in the 80's though

He never did play with Moyer or Vizquel before though

Vizquel faced Oliver 32 times (2 for 27 with 2 singles and 4 walks). .293 OPS

He is like carrying another pitching coach, they don't have anyone that is really ready or has earned a call-up. It's nothing more than a depth move. If he pitches well enough in AAA for them, he might be able to eat some innings instead of giving it to someone who isn't really ready yet.

You aren't hurting anything by getting Moyer. It's a no risk, possible some upside deal. It's a good thing to do, especially if you are weak on pitching.

What's wrong with giving Moyer a chance? Sure, he's still very raw, but he's worth taking a shot for in my opinion. This kid just needs one chance to show what he can do. Great signing.

Blue Jays (3.6 UZR/150) and Rogers Centre are a good spot for Moyer. Big upgrade over Rockies (-7.1 UZR/150) and Coors Field.

It's amazing these kids at AAA can't touch Moyer. He was mowing them down.
