If Lombardi is healthy i wouldn't hate a third line of:
Kulemin - McClement - Lombardi.
Kule as the forechecker and first guy in their zone, and Lombo as the support man. Carlyle uses small speedy guys well and i dont think Lombardi will be demoted UNLESS they are stuck with that as the only option. Right now i dont think they plan on sending him down.
Maybe i'm wrong but i really think Carlyle will be ok with having him with the Leafs.
I like the idea of Lombardi on the 4th line(if he's playing on the Leafs) over the 3rd line. Obviously he has wheels which would help of course on any line, but b/c he ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to drive the net I think he's better suited for the 4th.
Its hard to think of what the lines will be next season... FA just started and there is still over 2 and a half months till next season. That is if they get their **** together and get the CBA finalized in time. There will be trades to come. but who knows when that will be.
Kulemin - McClement - Lombo
Brown - Steckel - Komorav/Frattin
I would put frattin in Komarovs spot but if Management doesn't want him on the 4th line then i trade him or send him down. I don't like him on the third line. i think he's a lesser Kulemin and i'd rather have Lombo's speed to compliment that line. If Kule is on the second line then:
Frattin - McClement - Lombo
would be just as good but that would mean that 1 or both of Mac and Timmy are gone. I doubt that happens.
