    Brett Lawrie, what's his ceiling?

The future face of the Blue Jays is a unique player, IMO.

He plays hard every day, his effort level is amazing. He's already a gold glove caliber defender. Might actually be the best every day 3B fielder in either league.

    25-25 potential.

Is his ceiling the best 3B in MLB?

NO not even close. He makes some nice plays but there are plenty of better defensive 3B. I don't think he has the ceiling of Trout and Harper (Future stars) but he is on that 2nd tier (Borderline All Star/Silver slugger) The kid has a hell of a future if he keeps his head out of his *** and if he doesn't let his emotions get the best of him.

Easily. If you have watched the kid play for the last two years, its really not difficult to see that he has the potential to be the best third baseman in the league. And to the troll who says not even close, Last time I checked harper and trout are not 3rd baseman. I really dont see too many 3b prospects that will stand in lawries way in 5 years. So either you need to reread the question or just give up critically thinking all together.

Good one, a real zinger eh?
Couldn't you see the bolded comment? I was referring to his defensive skills in general. I also was referring to his upside in general when I was talking about Harper and Trout. The kid will be a great player, but I just don't see him as the "superstar" you Blue Jays fans peg him as.

u gotta see him play if youre gonna comment on his defensive game. he arguably has the most range out of all 3B in the American league. only thing i hate about his game right now is his occasional boneheaded play on the basepaths, but i realize that will come with experience. i dunno if he'll be a superstar, but he'll be an all-star for sure.

Well, he's statistically the best fielding third baseman and he already has 25-25 potential this season.

In his prime years I see him battling for Gold Gloves and Silver Sluggers with a line like .280/.375+/.500+ with 30-30 numbers.

    He's still only 22.

Funny that the Brewers fan is trying to downplay Lawrie's potential.

The sky's the limit for Lawrie. He has a motor like no other. Harper and Trout get all the hype and deservingly so but Lawrie to me has all the tool's they have maybe not as good yet but he has the drive to get there. Rasmus and Lawrie are to awesome pieces moving forward for the Jays.

i think he'll be one of the top 15 players in baseball for a very long time. he plays the game with a massive chip on his shoulder. the bonehead plays on the basepaths as someone already mentioned are a bit much but that's just his unbelievable arrogance, he doesn't believe anyone can stop him at anything. he will learn.

    Brett Lawrie, what's his ceiling?

Probably David Wright-esque (first few years)
