As per Newsday's Art Staple, Visnovsky has indeed filed a grievence with the NHLPA saying his trade is not valid. The Ducks will oppose the grievence in arbitration. If they win, he has to report to the Isles if not, he remains a Duck and the Islanders should get compensated for it.

Visnovsky's agent says its not an issue witht he Isles and its not aboit Visnovsky not wanting to be there, Its just about Visnovsky wanting what's right to happen.

    AKA BS.

And the worst part is that I'm not surprised about Vis not wanting to come here and the Rangers stealing Nash.

Like beltran said, just another great day in Isles country.

NHL source: Visnovsky filed grievance June 30. Islanders knew about it before UFA, only told newspaper about it today.

Wang does give a crap about the lease though. If he doesnt honor the lease then its his money he's wasting. Due to that, we can ssure ourselves that this year, 13-14. and 14-15 will be played here.

As for Vis, Im pissed about the situation, but if the Ducks win, Im not gonna pretend to not be bitter but I still want him here, hes still better than anything we had last year

The first thing the Isles should have done when the Nets announced a move to BK is make a partnership with them to move in as soon as the Coliseum lease is up. It still may happen and it's possibly our best case scenario for staying in NY, but it looks like the dimensions for watching the game are gonna suck dick

^Brooklyn is a stop gap at best. Its Quebec or a new arena in Queens or Nassau in terms of a long term solution.

Why Quebec though? Theyve lost their hockey teams, why give them another damn chance

yes, because winnipeg, colorado, and northern california didn't work out well the 2nd time around.

quebec lost their team because of the canadian dollar, not because of fan support.
The league's Canadian teams (with the exception of Montreal, Toronto, and to a lesser extent, Vancouver) found it difficult to compete in a new age of rising player salaries. The financial difficulties were even more pronounced by a weakening Canadian dollar, since the Canadian teams' revenues are earned in Canadian dollars, but player salaries are paid in US dollars. The Nordiques, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, and Winnipeg Jets were all in danger of being forced to move while the expansion Ottawa Senators changed owners before they even played a game.
quebec also did what nassau wouldn't, and cleared tax money for a new 18,000 seat arena.
