JVR might be used as a centre. Burke also says that Kadri and Colborne might get a look at C

Atleast JVR has some experience at centre. I'd say he sticks to the wing. But if he could slide in the middle on the PP with Lupul and Kessel that'd look pretty nice.

I'm not a big fan of the trade, but Burke had to do something with Tampa Bay & Carolina getting pieces to make them better. I think Schenn has a bigger upside...I see him flourishing in Philly. JVR, IMHO is a 20-25 goal and 50-60 point winger in his prime that plays an occasional physical shift each game.

The issue is...where does JVR play? Lupul should be a lock on the 1st line as the LW, with Kessel and...Lord help us...a #1 center. So as of now (barring further trades/acquisitions, does JVR play LW with Grabo & Mac...or does he play LW on the 3rd line with Army & Connolly?

Mac should be moved to allow JVR to play on the 2nd line. Kluemin is a solid two way player, and Caryle liked klue on the 3rd line.
I can see a line of JVR - grabo - kadri. That's solid.

I don't think Schenn has more upside then JVR.

The lines, according to James Mirtle's guess from the Globe and Mail, would be this.

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
MacArthur - Grabovski - Van Riemsdyk
Kulemin - Connolly - Frattin
Brown - Steckel - Armstrong
ex. Lombardi, Kadri, Komarov

Defense Barring Trade:

Gunnarsson - Phaneuf

Schultz - Gardiner

Liles - Komisarek

EX: Franson, Holzer

Goalie: Luongo, Reimer.


That's actually not too bad. A lot better now with JVR there. If Burke gets a Center and somehow gets Schultz and Luongo, that's a very good team.
