Mark Trumbo vs Allen Craig

I think in the end, both of these guys will go down as better than everybody thought they would when this thread was created.

Trumbo continues to be awesome (what, five games in a row with a homer?), and Craig isn't letting up with more plate appearances (game winning hit last night).

He better start producing more then he has been as of late. He's dragging my two fantasy teams these last 2 weeks

Yeah, a .222 wOBA over the last 14 days isn't exactly good, but that's only 39 PA (all-star break)

He has hit as well as Paul Konerko the last two weeks lol

When you extend him another 9 PA and include all of July he is at a .323 wOBA
He had a .382 wOBA in June
And he had a .485 wOBA in May


He has a .397 wOBA, 155 wRC+ on the season
and Trumbo has a .411 wOBA, 163 wRC+

So Trumbo is pulling away with these last two weeks, he has homered in 5 of his last 7 games

What's scary is Trumbo really is just learning to Hit.. Not even near a finished product yet..

Scioscia finally wised up and hit him clean up tonight.

Trumbo in July - .269/.327/.538 - .360 wOBA, 129 wRC+
Trumbo in Aug - .150/.292/.300 - .276 wOBA, 71 wRC+

Craig in July - .264/.323/.505 - .354 wOBA, 125 wRC+
Craig in Aug - .263/263/.368 - 271 wOBA, 68 wRC+

Both dropped badly in July from their season averages and both have been horrible thus far in a week in August.

Trumbo is and probably without any doubt be the best player of the two during their careers...hands down.

Although this goes to Trumbo by a little, Craig definitely deserves some recognition as well. He's a very good hitter and is on his way to becoming one of the better 1b/corner outfielders in the league.
His presence has made Berkmans injury-plagued season almost forgettable.

Ok now this comparison just got freaky.. Not only are their season numbers still very similiAR BUT BOTH GUYS RECENTLY missed time with Rib injuries!

Mark Trumbo is out of Monday's lineup due to a dislocated rib on his right side.
Trumbo suffered the injury during batting practice on Sunday, but played in the game. It sounds awfully painful, but it's not believed to be serious. Consider him day-to-day for now.
