I'm down to bump.. Should be interesting to see how this pans out.
Trumbo has clearly evolved as a hitter so using his 2011 splits can certainly cause over reaction.. Dude has found some patience and discovered that right field exist in 2012

I don't know how anyone can say the obvious answer is Trumbo.
He has never hit at any level better than Craig, ever. Majors or minors.
Not to mention the versatility of Craig.
To those that do not know mathematics it is difficult to get across a feeling as to the beauty, the deepest beauty of baseball. If you want to learn about baseball, to appreciate baseball, it is necessary to understand the language she speaks.

Not including Craig's 2 for 4 with a single and a double today as well a walk and Trumbo being 0 for 3 today.
Craig - .315/.392/.605 - .420 wOBA, 171 wRC+
Trumbo - .318/.370/.618 - .416 wOBA, 167 wRC+
Advantage Craig. 13 points in slugging does not beat 22 points in OBP.
Trumbo has created 49 runs this year offensively, to Craig's 29.
But, as you said, 148 plate appearances to 254 plate appearances. But Craig is again on a better pace. Trumbo certainly has stepped it up though.
I think more so, people just don't know anything about Allen Craig.

Minor league careers
Trumbo - .275/.330/.474 - 3069 PA
Craig - .308/.369/.518 - 2209 PA
Craig was clearly better in their minor league careers
Major league careers
Trumbo - .269/.312/.511 - 843 PA
Craig - .297/.355/.605 - 491 PA
And Craig threw in 47 productive playoff PA where he maintained that production level.

Craig
THE BEST DH IN SF GIANTS HISTORY!
2010 and 2012 World Series Champs !
As of this morning on the 2012 season
Craig - .320/.399/.609 - .425 wOBA, 175 wRC+
Trumbo - .316/.368/.612 - .413 wOBA, 165 wRC+
Craig only has 148 PA, but as long as he stays in the lineup for 80% of the rest of the year, he will have enough PA to qualify for the batting title (not that he would get it). I would say that is enough PA to warrant his value.
He is behind Trumbo by 110 PA this season, and as my post above pointed out, Craig would have to play historically horrible to match Trumbo in statistics for the last two years. Pretty hard to understand why anyone would say the obvious answer is Trumbo.
Since we made the friendly wager (it's been less than a week). Just updating where we are
Trumbo - .280/.280/.600 - .370 wOBA, 136 wRC+
Craig - .238/.304/.429 - .319 wOBA, 102 wRC+
