    The Kings and Zack Parise

Interesting article on the Kings and their pursuit of Zach Parise.

    http://b.bm324.com/public/?q=ulink&f....T9qPrg.rawpLw

"While Parise has yet to speak openly about his future, the word that has filtered down to NHL general managers is that his No. 1 consideration in choosing a location next year is finding a team that just won’t challenge for the Stanley Cup next year, but will challenge every year."

Who wouldn't want to play for a Stanley Cup Championship team that has a great core of players for several years to come.

He would be an excellent asset too.

Wow, if you guys got Parise, that would be nasty. In years past, it's been the Cup-winners who've had to trade away/lose important players. This year, it may end up being the Cup-loser who has to do that.

I also heard a Suter to the Kings rumor. If either of those happened, your team would be the heavy favorite to win the Stanley Cup next year.

P.S. Congrats on your team's first Stanley Cup.

I guess that would depend on what happens with Penner. Sutter lit a fire under his *** and he finally played the way he can play. Zach will also command a large salary and we still need to resign Stoll and get Quick inked to a long term deal. Penner said that he is willing to stay at a discount.

Signing Parise will be awesome as long as it doesn't interfere with signing other players...we don't want to end up like the Blackhawks did after their cup run.

Ouch lol. Well, difference is you guys have a lot more cap flexibility and a young, franchise goalie. If Niemi had put up a couple years of the numbers he put up in the 2009-10 season and 2010 playoffs, I have no doubt in my mind that he'd still be the Hawks starting goalie. It also hurt that Hjalmarsson was an RFA who looked really good during the playoffs, and looked like he had a lot of potential. The Sharks made an offer that looked like projectable value for Hjalmarsson, and we decided to match it. You guys also don't have a GM that screwed up on the RFA tenders, so I think you'll be alright.

Personally, I'd go for Parise over Suter if I were you guys. Suter's damn solid, but you guys already have a great group of defensemen in place. Put Parise on that top line with Kopitar and maybe Brown, and that's one of the best lines in all of hockey.

You do have some players to re-sign, such as Stoll and Penner, but I'm confident at least one of those two will stay with you guys, and possibly both. Re-sign Quick to a long-term deal, re-sign Stoll and/or Penner and replace whichever one doesn't sign, and push for Parise, and you guys should have a great off-season.

I would flip flop Richards and Gagne, and they just signed Stoll. Where does he go? Where does Penner go if he signs?

Parise can get more money and be a contender elsewhere. Would love him to sign with us though.
