Mavs Forum ReDraft
I saw the Knicks forum is doing one and thought it would be fun for us to do a Mavs fan version of one.
Unlike other Redrafts, we wouldn't have 30+ teams, which means when we got down to the later rounds we'd be drafting guys like Udonis Haslem instead of Brian Cardinal... meaning the later rounds would still be very interesting as you would still be building a bench with important pieces.
The goal would be to get at least 12 teams, at the most 16. That way we can have two conferences of 6/6 or 8/8. If we don't have alot of interested people we could always do 4/4 which would mean our teams would be ****in deep. I'm talking Wade backing up Kobe deep.
Please don't say you're interested and agree to join if you don't plan on being an active part of the game. That means checking the forum on a regular basis as much as possible to make your pick, responding to trade offers, updating your clubhouse etc.
So that being said, who is in? I'll start the list with myself and asmarks and Gatkins since they've already say yes.
Usually you have a 80 million dollar cap number you can spend when drafting.
If you go over the cap, you will be DQ'd
Example of how the cap and salaries work: Lets say you draft Dirk in round 1 who makes 20.9 million next season, your remaining cap is 59.1 million and so on and so on.
When all draft picks are made and all trades are completed, we rank the eastern conference teams and the western conference teams 1-8 in both leagues.
We then have playoff matchups where the forum or a committee will decide who wins the matchups round by round based on stats, opinions on chemistry (if the players you drafted would mesh well), and other factors
We eventually crown a champion.
