George was a better fielder, and as long as you adjust for the era, Brett has him.

To those that do not know mathematics it is difficult to get across a feeling as to the beauty, the deepest beauty of baseball. If you want to learn about baseball, to appreciate baseball, it is necessary to understand the language she speaks.

    Favourite Teams:

    Boston Red Sox: 22-16
Indianapolis Colts: Decent draft, no new wide reciever though.
Detroit Pistons: Looking forward to the draft and whoever the new coach will be
Ottawa Senators: Onto Round 2 vs. Pittsburgh, Game 1 tomorrow night

    Beautiful:

This one probably isn't going to end up in Chipper's favor.

Chipper is one of the better third basemen ever, but he is still behind Brett

I'm going to feel confident about my choice without even looking up George Brett's stats.
    And no poll.... George Brett.

is this some kind of sick joke?

    George Brett.
One of the greatest baseball players EVER.
Jones has had a really good career but he's really not even in the same class.

    Brett

    .305/.369/.487, .374 wOBA, 133 wRC+, 135 OPS+
    80.4 oWAR
    1.2 dWAR
    47.0 UZR
    84.0 rWAR
    91.6 fWAR

    11624 PA

made 23.5 million in his career

    Jones
    .304/.402/.532, .399 wOBA, 142 wRC+, 141 OPS+
    82.5 oWAR
    dWAR -1.4
    -40.6 UZR
    80.1 rWAR
    88.7 fWAR

    10296 PA

    Made 156 million

Anyone that is laughing at this comparison I'm guessing didn't even bother to look at their numbers in their respective careers.

Jones murders Brett offensively (even after adjusting for the era), and Brett was the better defender by a bit throughout their careers. I'm leaning Brett, but after taking a closer look, it very well might be Chipper.

In the end, I'm leaning Brett, but my God Chipper is right there.

^^ The question we must ask ourselves is, do we really feel comfortable sharing a locker room with this guy? ^^

Chipper. He’s beat as a fielder, but Chipper was great offensively at his peak. Brett was close though.

    And he’s a boyhood idol.
