Let's see he's like 27 right? I don't think he does honestly. Djokovic is still going strong and will challenge him as well as murray and some young guys are coming up quick. If raonic takes another step and that big polish guy comes back healthy they may make some noise on hard courts making it harder on nadal as well.

I voted "yes." I've actually thought of this thread each time Federer has won another. I was dead wrong on this one.

I can still see Nadal catching Federer. Right now he is 4 behind and 4 years younger.
The injuries caught up to Nadal for a couple of years but he is back to playing really good tennis.

Fed might be up 5 with Wawrinka and Djokovic out.

I suppose Nadal could keep winning FO until he's like 40 though.

Not that I can tell. Even then, Nadal with enough rest could get it done at the FO during his 30s.

Just b/c he is younger doesn't mean he has more gas in the tank. Rafa plays a much more demanding style and has had more injuries. huges he right though he has had a nice resurgence

For a two week tournament with enouhg rest, he can get it done though. He should really be looking at prolonging his career now though. Skip more hrd court tournaments and play many on clay.

Well he just lost to Denis so he's not really looking good going into US Open.

I can't recall the last time Rafa has looked good going into the US Open. It has become one of the more unpredictable Slams in the last few years. Players are hurt and tired. It has been a long time since I looked at Rafa as a contender. Now, Federer's seeming lock to win it may be in jeopardy because of the back injury. Here's hoping for a 1st time winner!
