Anyone catch Babs on NHL live last night? He said "Helm is the best 3rd line center in the league." Wow, that's gotta give Helmer a huge boost right there.

Helm, Stoll and Bolland are the three guys I consider to be the best 3rd line centers.
Supposedly, with Wideman's signing the cost of Garrison may have went way up.
Read where a trade for Yandle may be a backup plan for the Wings. If the Yotes are willing to trade Yandle, I think Holland needs to pull the trigger. Ever hear the old saying, a bird in the hand are better than two in the bush. The price for Yandle may be high, but I think it would go up significantly after Suter is landed. Worse case scenario, the Wings end up with Yandle and Suter...aw.
I think Keith Yandle is a #1.

The problem is, there isn't much to pick from.
You are right, what if Lidstrom retired last year when the market was really thin? Scary
If we miss out on Suter we need to trade for a #1 Dmen. I'd love to get Weber but seriously doubt the Preds would trade him to us. I wanted Schenn but we missed the boat on that one. So I guess Yandle wins by default, even though i'm not convinced he's the star many around the league are making him out to be.
Earning Respect with every Withdrawal
Is pushing the price up for RFA's like Green, Erik Johnson or Cody Franson a bad idea? If we lose out to Suter, anyone of those guys is a good pickup.
All can contribute to the PP and they're young.
Still don't like the look of our D with only one pickup
Suter(?), White, Kronwall, Ericsson, Kindl, Smith
So who's gonna rotate with injuries? Are we going to be the Detroit Griffins again this year because of no depth?
probably a reason for that, lol
You're right though, I did forget him. I didn't forget that we paid a first rounder for him though...
Remember way back when? When we were discussing other players to sign, if we didn't get Suter.
Dennis Wideman - Calgary, 5-year, $26.25M - traded by Washington
Barret Jackman - St. Louis, 3 years, 9.3 million - stayed put
Joe Corvo - Carolina, 1 year, $2 million
Bryan Allen- Anaheim, 3 years, $10.5 million
Jason Garrison - Vancouver, 6 years, $27.6 million
Filip Kuba - Florida, 2 years, $8 million
Bryce Salvador - New Jersey, 3 years, $9.5 million
Plan B is getting pretty slim out there. Need to push a really good offer to Carle.
These were just a few of the signings - http://espn.go.com/nhl/freeagents/_/position/d
