Easily Molina, even if he goes back to being the hitter he was earlier in his career.
His mobility behind the plate, the ability to shut down the runnig game is worth more.
The defense of a catcher is hard to quantify, but I value defense over anything behind the plate and Yadier is the best since Rodriguez in his prime.
The Cardinals are ran against more than half as little as the second least ran on team in baseball and Molina has out-hit McCann over the last two seasons.
Molina also gets more borderline calls than any other catcher in baseball for his pitchers, and etc etc etc on defense.

McCann... Just By A Little.
For those picking McCann
Over the last two seasons
Molina - .314/.358/.486, .363 wOBA, 132 wRC+, 7.2 fWAR, 22 HR, 9 SB
McCann - .265/.344/.454, .342 wOBA, 116 wRC+, 5.1 fWAR, 31 HR, 4 SB

I chose Molina because I like good, all around ball players. Molina can hit, play defense and do all the great things that don't show up in the stat sheets.
Stats NEVER tell the whole story!
People over the age of 14 who still write "lol" should be killed
which molina?

BRETT GARDNER HOME RUN METER
HOME RUN COUNT: 3
I'm curious where you get those numbers...
From 2010-2011 McCann has a 9.7 to 7.7 WAR lead.
From 2010-2012 McCann has a 10.6 to 10.1 WAR lead.
From 2011-2012 Molina has been better, but that's not 2 seasons. They were fairly similar in 2011 and McCann has been awful in 2012.
Your argument comes down to McCann is having a bad 2012 and thus Molina is better, when the reality is that they're pretty much the same at this point with McCann getting more value from the bat and Molina from the glove.
I say push.
Vic Mackey: You better figure out how much you hate me. And how you're going to deal with that. 'Cause I'm not going anywhere.
as much as i hate his mother f***ing guts, i would take molina

From Fangraphs
But the totals represented were from OD 2011 to the date that I made that post in 2012.
I'm not really trying to argue that Molina is better than McCann. I think they are really close too.Your argument comes down to McCann is having a bad 2012 and thus Molina is better, when the reality is that they're pretty much the same at this point with McCann getting more value from the bat and Molina from the glove.

Molina is clearly better defensively, I don't think anyone can argue with that, and at catcher, there is clear value there.
McCann has consistently been the better hitter, until the last 18 months. And while Molina has a new plate approach and mechanics that appear to be helping him, McCann has been struggling worse than ever. Over their careers, Molina has been a sub-par hitter, while McCann has been fantastic.
I personally give the edge to Molina because of the defense, I think offensively, right now. They are comparable, since one is trending down, and the other is trending up. I won't fight if someone said McCann. Because I don't think he will sustain his struggles offensively, and I think Molina, while mechanically is a better hitter than he once was, is still out-hitting what he can sustain.

Mccann for me
McCann
Molina is the best catcher in baseball, hands down. Not even close.
