I should rephrase what I mean. I wouldn't sign Timmy long term for big bucks, I think 100 mill 5 years was thrown out. I just can't see with his mechanics how he can pitch the same and go after batters the same long term. He's gonna have to become make some adjustments to be in the league 5-8 more years.
That's not to say I wouldn't mind signing him to something like a 2 year deal.
Dickey for me every time. I do suppose having crappy owners like the Rockies have does make me analyze $ a bit more than others with more free spending owners.

Dickey because he has the ability to pitch untilhe's 50years old.
i would rather take big time timmy jim in the short term and the dickster in the long term
Glad some others agree. Felt like I was crazy for everything I was saying because nobody thought the same

This is nothing but a matter of dollars, not talent. Why not make another thread with Cliff Lee or Jason Vargas. I find it quite silly

The difference between me and you is I don't need the internet to discuss baseball intelligently.
None and lincecum was dumb not to sign longterm now the giant will leave him out to dry.
Um...I Like Dickey, But Give Me Lincecum Long Term.
Dickey... Hell, I'd take Manny Acosta for 5 years instead of Timmy. Lincecum is done.

Lincecum and its not even close
I'd take Dickey. I feel better about him pitching 5 years from now than I do Lincecum. Too many question marks about Lincecum for me to give him the type of deal he is looking for
I'd 100% take Lincecum. He's younger than Dickey, and although he's having an off year, who's to say he won't bounce back and become a top 3 pitcher like he was a few years ago? Dickey is playing great right now. For this season I'd rather Dickey, but for the next 5, Lincecum easily.
I love the story of R.A. Dickey, but I have to go with Lincecum. Lincecum has an FIP of 3.72. He has just not gotten the luck defensively this year. I think that Lincecum will go back to his old self very soon.
