i am not sure but can they somehow get rid of the evidence of debs bullet. Like how he shot hector's stab wound, to erase the evidence of hector of being stabbed.

This is someone she's known and worked under for years, this wasnt just some random criminal. This was something that was going to be a huge deal for Dexter to have to do, he was breaking the code...they did the thing with Harry beforehand. Yet Deb just pulls the trigger on her? It doesnt make any sense.

Can someone tell me why Deb wouldnt just walk away and let Dexter handle his business as he was in the process of doing? Why the need to murder her herself?! It was sloppy, Laguerta NEEDED TO HAVE A GUN POINTED AT DEXTER to arrest him. Laguerta needed to have the advantage. However you do it, whether she outsmarts him again, wakes up, whatever. Deb then would be at the point where she'd be forced to either kill her or watch Dexter get hauled away. That is what shouldve happened, simple change but makes more sense and is more effective as opposed to killing her when Dexter was going to do it anyway. Think about it. It may sound like im nitpicking but i do think theres a big difference between turning a blind eye to Dexter and actually murdering a police cpt yourself.
The way I look at it, she never has been able to turn a blind eye. When she first found Dexter murdering Travis Marshall, she insisted that she go get the gasoline. When they were planting evidence on Doakes, she insisted that she do it. She's been keeping tabs on Dexter all season and has insisted she be kept in the know. I think it was a progression of Deb getting deeper into the criminal world of Dexter. She finally reached the breaking point where she didn't want Dexter to kill anymore. If anyone was going to kill LaGuerta, it was going to be hurt on her terms. It was probably the most believable aspect of the scene to me.

I just don't know why (a) LaGuerta would go to the scene without any backup and (b) why Dexter would believe she would go there without any backup. Then he drugs LaGuerta, but didn't give her a strong enough dosage so she wakes up? It seemed like a flawed plan, but maybe that was the point. Dexter was unraveling and taking chances to save himself.

Because the episode was called Surprise, Mother.. it would've been classic if Dex was at the dock getting ready to kill Laguerta and the cargo door opens. Doakes is like SURPRISE MOTHER****ER! Thought I was dead huh you ****in weirdo.

I don't care about the whining people about the plot hole. It would've been so unexpected, and thats what the show has been missing lately.

    Season wise it probably goes...

    2
    4
    1
    7
    6
    3
    5

2-4-1 are interchangeable and honestly 4 might be the best but I really liked season 2. Season 7 was a solid season. Season 3 sucked, Season 5 was terrible and last season was okay. I think season 8 will be better than 7 so Im def hyped to see how they end it. I feel like if the finale was better season 7 couldve been the 2nd best season of the series.

In regards to next season...Dexter & Deb will continue to unravel. Quint jumps back on the somethings going on with Dexter. Hannah will still play a role. The grandparents die and Cody is groomed to become Dexter. Dexter slips up and finally gets killed or he gets the chair. I expect it to be the darkest season since season 4.

Also Deb called to ask where Laguerta was, then her car arrived at the scene a bit later, will they just brush that off?

good point, they have deb on record asking to find laguerta's car, then find her body at the dock where deb will be found? they're going to have to connect laguerta & deb as working together for some reason, otherwise Why the random call for laguerta's whereabouts? then find her dead?? deb might be considered a suspect given that she'd be pissed at laguerta for accusing dex as the BHB.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on Deb killer her, because i feel really strongly that it shouldnt have happened and cant be talked out of it, but your A and B points i am totally on board with. That probably made less sense to me than Deb killing her, like how in the world Dexter know that she would show up all alone? Even if he knew the rest of homicide didnt have her back what about the escort of a simple patrol car? I mean, she was a captain after all. That was really bad....it couldve been done so much better. The manner in which Dexter got Laguerta to show up was terrible. Its on the level of Dexter killing the guy at the range in broad daylight.

I made a great choice to start watching this show a few months back and I finally caught up the other day.
My fav seasons in order, plus quotes lol...

2 - "Jesus Christ, Morgan. Jesus ****ing Christ, you're the Bay Harbor Butcher!"

    4 - "Hello... Dexter Morgan."

1 - "You can't be a hero and a killer. It doesn't work that way!"

7 - "Everything's different now. The memory of killing you will have to be enough."

    6 - "I am a father... a son... a serial killer."

3 - "I am the last person you wanna **** with because I will **** you back, in ways you never even imagined!"

5 - "Tell him time is of the essence. Tick-tick-tick. That's the sound of his life running out."
