He did get to Jackson pretty fast.

Agreed, We didn't see Ackley for a full Minor League season plus some months.

New here. You'll be seeing me around the Seahawks and Mariners forums.

Woke up this morning and saw that the latest prospect rankings were out. Spring training is only a few weeks away and I think all these guys are invited so might as well get more familiar with them, right?

Yeah, but that's because he was learning a whole new position. I don't think Zunino's defense will hold him back... pretty much every pre-draft scouting report said he's about as ready for the majors behind the plate as a prospect can be. He's gotta be better than Montero behind the plate, no questions asked. So if anything it'll be his bat that holds him back, and that's entirely possible to be the case. But if I'm a betting man I think his bat is ready enough to be up here in September... hell, for all we know his defense behind the plate will get him up here faster based on our need...

Now we just gotta see how prepared his bat truly is. He may start in AA to prove it a little more, and maybe let Hicks prove it a little more in High Desert, but both could easily be deemed ready for the next levels. I kinda want Zunino in AA to start, to build some extra confidence, but maybe only there for a month or so... the he and Hicks move up.

Are you moving further south...? I think I remember you saying you were up north, like Everett or something. At least up there you still have the aquasox for some cheap games...

Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately for this thread, we already have a minor league thread that has a lot more prospect info for your fingertips... just check the first few posts. I try to stay up to date with it, but I'm behind on updating the various prospect rankings on other sites for 2013... it'll get done soon. But go check it out!
