    mike schmidt vs george brett

So I done this same poll a few years ago on here, but at the time there wasn't much talk in this section and advanced stats weren't used much on here. So I figured I do another one.

    Who was better?

Schmidt destroys Brett all over the place.
To those that do not know mathematics it is difficult to get across a feeling as to the beauty, the deepest beauty of baseball. If you want to learn about baseball, to appreciate baseball, it is necessary to understand the language she speaks.

I saw Brett play several times and thought he was great, in fact I saw his 3,000th hit at the Big A. Schmidt was purely insane, exactly what youd want from a third baseman in the middle of the order.

Schmidt at it's not really even close. He is arguably the best third baseman to ever play.

    Thisclose but Mike Schmidt.
    Favourite Teams:

    Boston Red Sox: 27-17
Indianapolis Colts: Decent draft, no new wide reciever though.
Detroit Pistons: Looking forward to the draft and whoever the new coach will be
Ottawa Senators: Down 2 to 1 to Pittsburgh, Game 4 on Wednesday Night, Game 5 on Friday Night and Game 6 on Sunday Night (If necessary)

    Beautiful:

Schmidt was a better fielder than Brett. Brett was a better average hitter, Schmidt had better power.
    Schmidt wins, IMO.

    Oh please.

Schmidt dominated the NL for nearly a decade with the bat. He was a better fielder too. Schmidts 11 year peak dwarfs Brett.

Brett is a great player - 2nd or 3rd best 3B of all time (leaving AROD out of the conversation). Just shows how great Schmidt was that he trounces him with such ease.

103 rWAR in 10062 PA for Schmidt

84 rWAR in 11625 PA for Brett

or 30% more valuable per plate appearance.

Schmidt is the 15-20th best player of all time. Brett is 30-35th.
