That'd probably be enough for ANA, but it might be too much for the Rangers.

Is Getzlaf even available? I think probably not. Teams today don't typically trade 27-year old, point per game center men who are 6'4" and 220 lbs. Even coming off a horrible year, I think they keep him.

It's a big risk trading for Getzlaf too, as he's only a year away from UFA status. You could give up a ton of assets for him tomorrow, then lose him this time, next year.

Few rumors going around that both are available. They, along with Schultz and filler could complete this team.

Again, I'm not too keen on cutting into the top-4. It may be the best in the league, and there are a lot of people around the league who feel that way.

Especially when you consider that the oldest guy in the group is only 28, there's 2 established All-Stars, and very likely 2 more who are both below the age of 24 with less than 400 regular season games between them, yet are already established, high caliber players. Probably not the best idea to move one of them, unless you have an immediate replacement.

So they go from having one of the best centers in the game in Getzlaf to Dubinsky and Cogliano as their 1-2? No way they accept that.

Any deal with Anaheim starts with Stepan + Anisimov and they stated they want Stepan, because they want a good Center back.

Who will go in the off-season (Offseason Thread)

There is no way Anaheim accepts that proposed trade. Think about the caliber of player they would be losing.

One of stepan, Kreider, staal or mcd would have to be involved.

If they're dealing Getzlaf to the Rangers, they can take Stepan. Love Step, think he'll still improve, but he's not Getzlaf, nor will he ever be.

    If they want:
    Dubi
    Stepan
    Erixon or McIlrath
    1st Rd. Pick
    + 1-2 more prospects

    For:
    Getzlaf
    Ryan

    I'm all about that.

Probably doesn't go down that way though

I doubt they take that package.

As I said, so do I. They couldn't afford more than that though.

For sure it would, and to tell you the truth, if they were to move those two, it's not a hockey trade they'd be making, but one to restock for a re-build.

Under those circumstances, they'd need a couple of premium prospects, plus high picks, and maybe a roster player or two. The Rangers would have to give up Kreider in that kind of deal, which they won't.

I honestly think that trading for these big name stars is getting harder and harder, it's just not worth it anymore unless you are a team thats been hording draftpicks since 8 years. Everything seems to have to be done at the free agent market for the big names.

Maybe look into signing a guy like Tomas Holmstrom to help out on the PP. hes 39but still effective on draws and 10 out of his 11 goals last year were on the power play. Probably not a 1st or 2nd line center, but for a 1-year deal he could only help.
