What do you guys think about Blatche or Birdman as our backup big? I love the energy Bird brings when he can stay healthy. I think Blatche should be much better in a new environment. With guys like Chauncey and Grant mentoring him, I think he could really mature into a good player.

I like Birdman more than Darko, Hollins, and especially Blatche. But I would rather take Robin Lopez or a healthy Okur over Birdman so...

On paper Birdman is a good fit. However with the case he's got going I don't want him around our team. Give me Darko.

I forgot about Bird's legal troubles. I like Darko and Bird, but they are just energy guys whereas Blatche has a lot more potential to bring us some offense off the bench. I would be happy with any of the three to tell you the truth. Sounds like Darko could be a Bull if they dont match on Asik.

It's not really a big time signing but a solid one. I wouldn't mind adding another Center or Power Forward, but we are probably done. I do think we will use our TPE and pick up a SG like Belinelli if not we re-sign Foye to fill in for Chauncey at the start of the season.

I doubt we'll be re-signing Foye or K-mart now. We're too close to the luxury tax threshold. We'll be adding two more vet min guys, one of which I think will be Hilton Armstrong and the other could be another player from the summer league or some cheap player through free agency.

I personally love what Adam Morrison has been doing in the summer league so far, I'd like to give him that last spot.

Damn we are pretty close. Someone had Gomes amnesty at #2 worst amnesty in a thread in the NBA forum. What an idiot. It looks like we have less than $4 million left. So yea basically anything but minimum contracts put us in the tax. Morrison and Armstrong might be good pickups. A guy I think will be available for the vets minimum is Craig Smith. Rhino and Hollins would be a good rotation for the lats bench spot. Still like to find a way to add another SG. If there were a player going into the tax for it would be KMart. He would be a perfect 10th man. I doubt he'd like that role tho. Surprised there is no talk of him signing anywhere.

^ Yeah I saw that thread. I don't think he meant anything by it. He didn't do any research on it and didn't know that Gomes and Bledsoe were the only two allowed to be amnestied.

As far as the rest our roster, I'd take Armstrong right now simply because he's a pretty good defender. He's averaging four blocks a game in the summer league. That's certainly something to keep an eye on. I'd think he'd deserve a spot on the team more than Rhino considering neither would really play that much anyway, but Armstrong is some insurance in case Hollins really sucks or DJ gets hurt.

The last spot is pretty much a toss up, but like I said, I'd like to see Morrison on the team.

until billups come back, would the starting 5 look something like this?

    CP3
    Butler
    Hill
    Blake
    DJ

i think this would give us more size on the perimeter?

    TORONTO RAPTORS !!
