    2012 NHL Entry Draft - 4th Overall

i think it's about time we started this thread. Give us something to talk about other than JT for the cover. This team has plenty of great prospects and it looks like were about to add a few more. I believe we need to go defense with our first pick. Ill assume the draft will unfold with Yakupov, Grigorenko, and Forsberg going one two ant three respectively. I would love to add Ryan Murray. So who do you guys want?

Obviously Yakuov but in terms of being Relistic, I want Murray pretty badly

Apparently the Khl's top 2 teams are going to offer grigenko a heavy contract, I think his stock will fall, which would kill us in the draft

So I'm thinking (if no trades)

    Yak
    Murray
    Gally
    Forsberg/dumba/tervian (the European)
Unless Columbus picks gally idt we get murray

Yakupov no question, but it is very unlikely he will fall to us. I hope we can atleast get Murray.

what are the chances you guys trade the pick? i dont want ottawa to make a play for it (unless yakupov is there which everyone doubts) but you guy could probably pick up 2 solid defenceman, a forward and a dman or a star player imo in the deal including the pick.

so what do you guys think the odds are of that happening?

^Tought to gauge but id say the chances are as high as theyve been since we actually did trade down in 2008. I doubt we'd trade down more than 4 or 5 spots though, Isles are gonna want an impact defenseman.

Oh yeah, don't we have 2 2nd round picks this year? If Edmonton doesn't take Yak, I think it would be foolish not to trade up and nab him.

Unlike past NHL Combines, when the #Isles sent the team psychologist and several scouts, they're taking a different approach this week. While most clubs have 4-8 hockey ops staffers present, league sources tell me the NYI only have one. NYI are not meeting with players at the combine like years past. Instead, the team will analyze the results of its psych test and, as always, hold meetings in the weeks ahead with several players on Long Island under consideration for their top draft selections.

    Lol wtf... Wang cutting scouting?
