Flyers Should Do What With Their First Rounder?

When was the last time the flyers hit on a defenseman they drafted in the first round??? Woywitka...yea...Joni...hmmmm....Sbisa...yup...Jan ne Ninimaa...one thing they've been very good at when picking in the 20s is getting All Star offense man...Gagne, Giroux, Richards...then you've got Downie and Justin Williams...i say trade up and try to get the best defensive player available.

The only 1st round defensemen our current GM ever picked was Sbisa, and he's doing pretty good with the Ducks right now.

Some hockey experts have the Flyers targeting and trying to sign a FA D man named Schultz, a big, physical right handed D man who was drafted, didnt sign and is a FA this summer, if this happens I would still be okay with a D man, but how about a Goalie if there is an 18 yr old or so prospect, some one help, have not yet read up on this years prospects

Yeah Justin Shultz is pretty good, but he doesn't put us over the top by a long stretch , and PK subbans brother is the top goalie prospect

i wouldn't use my 1st on him ... i think that is a bit too high

he would be a hell of a pick in the middle of the 2nd .... but we would have to trade back into the round ...

tough call ... this year should be telling about how good he will be ... minny is a top program ... i think he committed to minny ... it could be michigan, i can't remember.

Why exactly would Buffalo do that??

Vanek scored 61 points last year and Miller and Bryz were pretty much the same guy........Correct me if I'm wrong but the Flyers first rounder is the 20th pick??...you're going to trade Vanek for a #20?? I don't see that. Notwithstanding the fact that Buffalo is on the hook for only 2 years for those guys..why would they take Bryz for EIGHT more??

In an effort to one-up a delusional trade offer before mine, I attempted to come up with a equally delusional/farfetched scenario. Don't get me wrong, I'd do crazy stupid things to get Ryan Miller here on the Flyers. Buffalo loves Jonas Enroth and outside of maybe 2-3 guys on the Flyers I'd give anyone/anything up for Ryan Miller.
