He either signs for 1 million or he's gone, I think. He's got enough damn money from that Washington contract, c'mon Jags!

I just cant believe how you guy's are protecting him sorry to burst your bubble but he just is not good enough to get the job done, perhaps it's the pressure I am not sure what I do know is he is no where near worth $50/mil.
    We are screwed
And how many goals did the Flyers score tonite? Bryz was not the reason they lost this series......

    Basically,
Bryz has incredibly solid fundamentals, but weak athleticism
Bob has incredibly solid athleticism, but weak fundamentals
    almost complete opposites.

    Finally we agree on something.
I am going to end it on this note.It was a fun year I wish it wasnt over and I hope for a better end next season....

With his ironclad contract I dont know how we can get rid of him....
Bryzgalov is your goaltender for a long time! Get over it or get a new team so we dont have to hear your compelling arguments that sound like they were formed by a 5 year old that doesnt understand the game and just blames the goalie "because he is supposed to stop the puck".

I'm all for Schenn, but as a project

And Bob has zero value right now.
Yeah I guess there are other guys out there like Erik Johnson big talented guy on the Avs, and of course the stud Weber but he will command too much both in terms of compensation and in terms of draft picks/and or players to get we would possibly have to gut some of the young roster to get him.

Probably what we'd be willing to offer...he'll probably have some offers out there...like to see him back as he worked great with G early on.

you could out offer the Predators for Weber, because he enters restricted free agency come july, and get him without losing a single player. But yea lose 4 1st round picks as a fee for poaching. Or they could trade for his rights and sign him, but thats not gonna happen.

Sutter on the other hand, I think Detroit will out-bid everyone. They have a ton of cap for him, nobody can compete, and they want a Lidstrom replacement.

I like getting a guy thats going to hit his prime in a couple more years, they make the best trades. Like imagine if the Flyers trade for Weber instead of Pronger in 2009? jeez. would of cost nothing. Luke Schenn could be the 2012 version of that. I bet if you get the same negative things said about Schenn, people were saying something similar about Weber in 2009.

This team is built for the future. I vote they keep that mold.

Wondering what the trade market would be on Hartnell? I love him to death but doubt he can repeat this season and think he will be somewhat redundant if this wasnt a fluke season for Simmonds. Also think that if we pop JVR onto the Giroux line in his place that could spark JVR to a break out year.

I agree Hartnell is about topped out, he looked as fatigued as Jagr out there. Totally right that Simmonds is his in-house replacement. Trade value on him is not great because of that cap, but his goals scored this year definitely put it higher then its ever gonna be again.

Hate to say it because they are all huge to this team, but this team is growing to become threat for the next decade, and these veterans have a high price tag. I'd like to see one of the following guys gone next year in an effort to make some additions:

    Timonen | Briere | Hartnell

all have huge salaries. I think its one too many for veterans. Especially Briere.

I really like the Schenn idea and think he can be had for a reasonable price tag. I am all for it as long as this isnt our solution. We still need a top pairing guy to eat up minutes. Young guys like Grossmann and Schenn need to play middle of the pack (15-18 minutes) at most. Timonen has to also start taking a smaller role.

I am leaning more towards moving Hartnell because I think his value will be at it peak after this year and I think he somewhat blocks the progression of JVR. JVR is never going to become a true power forward playing 3rd line minutes. Get him on a line with a playmaker like Giroux and have him consistantly drive to the net and let Giroux feed him.
