I haven't played Oblivion, some people like it, some people don't. If you're thinking about getting Skyrim, make sure you have a lot of free time because it's really addictive.

It took me several attempts to finally play Oblivion and I just used a walk through finally on FAQ. I would always start a new game, play till the first Oblivion gate, and have trouble and shut it off. Finally I said **** it and used a guide. I then went on to get all the achievements for the game and for the DLC.

Oblivion is not even in the same league as say Fallout 3 or Skyrim. You just don't get sucked into the world, but it is to be expected because it is such an older game compared to those two and really doesn't take advantage of the next gen fully .

I loved Oblivion.
The only annoying thing was the stronger you got the stronger enemies got which was too extreme. That 1 quest where you have to go in a cave of trolls is brutal when your a high level.

I also really liked the ending. I preferred the Daegon coming to life ending compared to Skyrims ending but that's just me. I was so disappointed after you defeat Alduin.

I actually thought a lot of the concepts they included in oblivion were really good, but the excecution was meh and I ****ing hated the repair system. I really liked the idea of the gates but I didnt like that since they were so long/filled with loot you had to plan in advance to go to a gate or not. I always wished they made a special oblivion gate inventory system that had independent weights from the rest of the ish.

Shivering Isles is ****ing awesome though.
