    Jaroslav Halak

ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Blues goaltender Jaroslav Halak (YAR’-oh-slahv HAL’-ihk) will not play in the first two games of the upcoming second-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings.
Blues coach Ken Hitchcock disclosed his decision Monday.
Halak was injured in the second game of the Blues’ first-round series against San Jose, leaving with an undisclosed lower-body injury that is believed to be a sprained left ankle he suffered during a collision with teammate Barret Jackman.
    Washington Post

Goaltender Jaroslav Halak made an initial move toward that end Sunday, testing his injured left foot with a morning skate. Halak was hurt early in the second period of Game 2 against the Sharks when defenseman Barret Jackman slid into the exposed netminder.
Halak left the game and wore a stabilizing boot on his foot last week. Brian Elliott, whose own injury issue removed him from starting consideration when the series began, entered and guided the Blues past the Sharks.
Elliott pitched nearly two periods of shutout relief in Game 2, and posted a .949 save percentage and 1.37 goals-against average as the Blues won four in a row after losing Game 1. Untested rookie Jake Allen was Elliott's emergency backup through the series. But Allen, 21, never has played in an NHL game, much less a playoff game.
The Blues would like to have the other half of their dynamic regular-season goaltending duo in place for the next series. But Halak's availability remains uncertain, as Blues coach Ken Hitchcock characterized the session Sunday as nothing more conclusive than a "first step."
    St. Louis Post-Dispatch

There's no schedule yet, but I think the series is supposed to start this weekend.

I didn't mean to make the poll multiple choice, so just pick one please.

Blues in 7. Depends on what goalie makes the grind out saved in the end. This is going to be an interesting series!

Ugly game. The Blues started out with urgency, finished with urgency, and were horrible in between.

They should have gotten 4 points on that hit on Petro. Nonetheless, the Blues are better than this.

That was frustrating. Better win game 2. Can't go to LA down 0-2.

Down 4-0 after the 1st. This series is going to be a quick one. The Kings are the real deal and I fully expect them to be in the Stanley Cup. Petro and Halak need to be back for game 3 for us to have a chance.

Just goon it up and send a message going into game 3. I wish Reaves and Stewart were out there instead of Langenbrunner and Dags.

I want Reeves. I want Reeves. No matter what he has passion, speed, strength and motivation everytime he is on the ice. A player that deserves a chance to show what hes got in game three IMO
