Pokemon isn't just about getting the pokemon with the highest stats. You need to make a team that meshes together and has balanced movesets. I just picked up Misdreavus in the 5th round, and it can kill any pokemon in 3 turns

I love Alakazam and Lapras. Sweet duo that there is tough to beat.

Other than the fact that Flareon has the worlds worst moveset

Every team needs Physical/Special Sweepers, Tanks, and Annoyers/Stallers. But having the third option might not be a good idea if any other team's sweepers can take out the annoyers/stallers pretty easily. While Misdreavus is good as a Perish Song user, if any sweeper with a higher speed rating can get a good STAB attack in, Misdreavus is as good as dead.

A majority of fire pokemon have terrible movesets.

Misdreavus' base stats aren't that bad, but I wouldn't use it against pokemon taken in the first 3 rounds.

Not like Flareon though, it's moveset is all time bad, especially in the later games.

Most fire types with strong special attacks get Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Overheat

Fire types with strong attacks get moves like Flare Blitz

Flareon has high attack and doesnt have access to any strong fire moves, I believe the strongest is Fire Fang

Fire Fang is Gen III move I think. But yeah, the moveset is SO BAD.

Moveset is reason why I think Omaster is better than kabutops for gen 1 and 2. Love Omaster and his high so atk. Surf, ice beam, rock throw. Nice. Plus a great physical defense
