Dee Gordon is garbage at a position that doesn't demand much offense. He's even worse at one of the 2 most important offensive positions in baseball. We're much better off with a Francisco/Johnson platoon with Prado filling the off position.

Agreed. If Gordon's offense is subpar for a SS, then he'd be one of the worst LFs in baseball.

I fully expect the Giants to win that division again. Putting together a bunch of big contracts with no regard for chemistry usually doesn't work out as well as you'd think.

Very little in the way of options there with what we have left. I think it's around 10 mill. With the prices this offseason that's not even enough for Cody Ross.

It's more like 12. As little a 2 million sounds, the difference between 10 and 12 million is substantial in terms of OF talent.

I haven't seen that. I've seen 12 speculated including with Bowman. Its probably between those two numbers. I'm sure if it came down to getting a great player that $2m would be easy to justify or make moves to free up that money.

Was that 12 before or after Reed Johnson? Just making sure. However with the red sox giving Victorino 13 mill a year it would be hard to sign a decent fill in for 12. For halfway decent quality only Ross is left I think besides Bourn, and we're sure as hell not getting Bourn for even less than our qualifying offer was. Ross would probably be at least 12 with the money flying around this offseason.

Depends on who is moved. Maholm I suspect will be staying till close to the deadline and he'd free up the most salary.
