On ESPN today there was an article talking about trade targets, and the first one mentioned was Zach Greinke. The Brewers will definitely trade him unless they go on a big run here, and we were mentioned as a prospective trade partner. He certainly would shore up the rotation for a playoff run, but he'd also be fairly costly and he's a FA after the season is over. I wonder what they'd demand for him, maybe something like Delgado+ some lower level prospects?

I'd love to try to get Greinke. I don't know what it would take. I'd be happy moving Hanson and parts if there was a good chance of signing him long term.

He is a head case though. He could flame out at anytime, which worries me. However he is one of the most promising AVAILABLE young pitchers.

Billy Hamilton is a SS in the Reds minior league system who is at A+ right now. The dude has stolen 52 bases on the year, they have played only 47 games. Rico Noel is 2nd in there league with 34.

Thats nuts, he got 103 stolen bases last season at A ball in 135 games.

    Inagine this:
    Bourne-CF
    Prado-3B
    Freeman-1B
    Hamilton-LF
    Uggla-2B
    McCann-C
    Heyward-RF

the phillies lost Halladay for 6-8 weeks, that's a big blow for them. I think the streak of 5 years winning the division will come to an end

Yeah...man, they pushed Halladay, Lee, and Oswalt out there like it was the reincarnation of Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz....
    Boy, that didn't last long.
That's an old team getting older. Their day has passed..only problem is Washington's is just coming to fruition. Nats are gonna be a problem for a long time.

I remember reading how one pirate scout said that his skills has "deteriorated" and at the time I just didn't believe it..how can a guy just lose his talents that quickly? It wasn't like he was injury prone or old. Quite sad.
