Girls (Season 1)

this was actually a very funny, witty and sarcastic pilot.

the characters were real (especially if you've ever lived in NYC or know city kids), the dialogue was fresh and funny, and the interactions were not pretentious or contrived, like so many other shows.

i thought this would be a flop, but the pilot definitely surprised me.

anyone else watch it last night?

Had heard a lot of good things so I watched it - didn't impress me. Wasn't necessarily bad, but also didn't do anything particularly well I thought. Some of the interactions/scenes were awkward & uncomfortable - not sure if that was supposed to be deemed as 'realistic' - I just thought they were odd. Also, not 1 likable character except the main chick's roommate. I'll watch a few more episodes - but wasn't overly impressed
