Narrowed it down to Maddux and Bonds...going with Maddux though. My reasoning, Maddux is arguably a top 5 pitcher of all time with his best years in this time frame. Bonds's best years were in the next decade.

Yeah, there are two pitchers you could arguably take here (Maddux, Clemens)

And a case can be made for the other two as well.

Bonds and Griffey are both good choices too.

I haven't voted yet, I am not sure who I want to give this one to yet.

For pitcher id go Maddux. Ace of one of, if not the best rotation of all time.

As much as I hate taking a player over my man crush Griffey Jr, I would pick Bonds for hitter.

Bonds was just hitting his prime going into the 90s, Griff was only 21 and Bonds was able to stay healthy which gave him a huge advantage.

Even though Bonds' best years was 01-04, he still averaged over 1.000 OPS during the 90s. Have to take him

And no, im not here to talk about all the controversy behind Bonds

I have to go with Griffey. And call me crazy, but if he was healthy for his whole career, he would have more HR's then Bonds.

I went with Bonds, I wanted to pick Griffey based on nostalgia and being a CFer, but Bonds was just too damn good with the bat and was no slouch in the field back then.

I remember around the end of first grade in 1988 my dad took me to see Griffey play for the San Bernardino Spirit (Cal League). We were bummed out because he was held out of the game (slight injury I think). I don't think he ended up playing another game in S.B. and was moved up to AA. It didn't end up being too bad because they were giving out team sets of baseball cards that night. Although the condition of my cards are very good now I still have them. I think there was a Dave Burba in the set too lol.

I hope this forum doesn't succumb to the big lie of Griffey > Bonds I'll be watching this poll.

    Where is Kirby Puckett?
On this list, I'd go with Griffey.

I broke down and took Bonds.

Griffey has the nostalgia, the guy you love.

Bonds was more like the enemy, the bad guy. But he was also the better player.

My issue wasn't Bonds vs Griffey.

My issue was Bonds vs Clemens and Maddux. But in the end I have given the edge to Bonds. And it's crazy to think his best days were still ahead of him (regardless of steroid talk, his best days were 01-04)
