Lamar Odom & Jamal Crawford Could Have Interest In Joining Warriors

    Odom
There's also way more than has been reported about the link between Odom and Golden State, and those details have many thinking the disgruntled forward is much more than "on the radar" or a "long shot" for the 2012-13 Warriors. Here's the key: Warriors assistant coach Jerry DeGregorio is as close as anyone to Odom. DeGregorio coached Odom in high school, college and the pros and has been like a father to him since Odom was a 16-year-old prospect from South Jamaica, Queens, N.Y. DeGregorio was the best man in Odom's September 2009 wedding to Khloe Kardashian. In his best-man speech, DeGregorio asked Kardashian to make the same vow that Odom's grandmother asked of DeGregorio before she died. Since Odom has no brothers or sisters and his mother died when he was 12, his grandmother asked DeGregorio to promise to watch over her baby.

    Crawford
Interesting that Jamal Crawford is having a big game against the Warriors. I've heard GSW is on his list of desired locations. Crawford is a good fit for the Warriors in the sense he can play two positions. But a guard is not tops on the Warriors' list. Plus, all they have is the mid-level exception to spend. I don't know if GSW is likes him or not (GM Larry Riley acquired him once, and Crawford's issue was with Don Nelson), but it certainly looks as if Crawford is making a case tonight

So say we can somehow find a way to clear enough cap to sign them both.

Realisticly we can only get one. The real question is , would you rather have Odom or Rush. Because that's what it's going to come down to.

Maybe if we hadn't dropped the ball with amnestying Charlie Bell we could have made that happen.

Why would you want someone as inconsistent as Odom? If the Dubs are going to build a winning team, they need a player who will show up EVERY NIGHT, not just when the spirit moves him.

I'd much rather have Brandon Rush at the 3 along with Dorell Wright. That, of course, leaves Lee and Tyler as the only 4s but I don't see that as a real big problem.

    Wright-Rush

I think this lineup has WAY more potential...and more depth...than any we've had for many, many years. And keeping Gladness, McGuire and Jefferson can't possibly hurt.

Of course, this is all contingent on whether or not Crawford is willing to rejoin the Warriors...and how much money he'd want.

Because if Odom is playing well, he's 10 times the player Rush is. Like I said it's going to come down to Rush & Odom. It's up to Lacob.

Ten times is a bit of a stretch. But to the point: I'd much rather have a player who is not quite as good but is consistent rather than having to count on someone who may not "show up" for a critical game.

Well you get my point. When Odom is right, he's a much better player then Rush. If Lacob sits down with him and feels he's right, I'm sure he would take Odom over Rush. And it's not all about who's better. Have you noticed the names the Warriors have been tied to? All big name players. It's apart of changing the Warriors into a prefered destination.

That is not what it's going to come down to, we can re-sign Rush at any cost as long as Lacob is willing to pay. Odom as the MLE and Rush is a re-sign and we own his RFA rights.

I don't feel Odom or Crawford fits into what the Warriors are trying to build. How many years does a 33 year old Odom have left in him? 2 maybe 4? Crawford is 32. This is a young team that has potential so why add two veterans whose best years are behind them? I would want a guy that is in the prime of his career or another young player that has been playing well with plenty of room of improvement to grow with this team.

If the Warriors some way do get their lottery pick this season and miss out on guys like Barnes and MKG, then I'd trade the pick along with the both their second round picks for George. The Pacers could use that pick on a guy like Jeremy Lamb while the Warriors get their SF of the future.
