Carlyle liked Franson a lot apparently. He liked Gardiner but that's a given.

Liles is already locked up and won't be dealt. Phaneuf is the captain (for now) and won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Which leaves Komisarek and Schenn along with Gunnarsson.

Those three were the ones most likely to be dealt anyways and Gunnarsson being our best defensemen all season, Schenn and Komisarek are the trading pieces on D.

So I wouldn't be shocked if Schenn is on the block.

Lol no in the press conference with Burke Carlyle said that he plans on using Franson more next season because he feels like he can be a contributer on the PP.

We'll find out pretty quick next year which players he likes. The honeymoon with the players will be over. I like the fact that Carlyle runs hard arse practices and puts an emphasis on hard work and defence. His hard nosed approach certainly means changes on the roster if Burke can pull some things off which I'm sure he will. Takes a certain player to play for a guy like Carlyle, but when you get the right group it works beautifully. Best coach I ever had growing up was a complete hard ***, wouldn't get off my case. It worked though. He's going to need more players on the team that aren't opposed to being pushed hard.

Can't say I was really all that impressed with Gunnar. Didn't watch every game but probably half of them and in those games he was average at best.

The thing about Gunnarsson is that while he doesn't do anything extrodinary he never gets us into trouble. On the first pair with Phaneuf, 2nd PP unit most nights. He's steady and our team lacks alot of that.

Dammit i just had a long post saying that gardiner and franson could be what prongef and neidermayer was for carlyle but it didnt get sent.

Not saying they will be as good but franson has the frame and offensive potential like pronger, who wasnt exactly a defensive wiz when he was cody's age. And gardiner being a small d man whos cool under pressure and plays in all situations like neidermayer.
