I don't see Sano making it to the bigs until September 2014, but it could be earlier. He could be added to the 40-man roster next season.

If we don't add him couldn't a team pick him up in the Rule 5 draft? I am thinking around the same lines you are cat, Sano has a ways to go. There is a huge difference between hitting in Beloit and the MLB, right now Sano is going up to the plate with the sole purpose of hitting it. In the MLB to be successful you have to plan ahead and adjust your plan according to the pitcher and situation. Sano has all the potential in the world but there is no reason to risk it by rushing him through the system.

He has only played for 3 years, so there isn't any hurry. If memory serves, you have to add a player to the 40-man roster before they have played in their 7th season or risk losing them.

Rochester lost 4-0 tonight. Darin Mastroianni was 2/4 with a double. Daisuke Matsuzaka started the game for Pawtucket.
    New Britain was rained out.
Ft. Myers won 12-3 with Anderson Hidalgo going 2/5 with a double and grand slam. Michael Gonzales was 3/4 with a double and a run scored. Why Jake Mauer has Gonzales batting 9th is beyond me. His bat is better suited for the middle of the order. I think his slow start will be ending soon and he will move up in the order.
Beloit won 5-1. Matt Summers pitched 8 innings, allowing a homer among the 4 hits he gave up. He didn't walk anyone and struck out 4. Sano was 2/4 with 2 runs scored and his 9th homer (leading the organization).
    2-1 for the farm.

Thanks for the updates Catman. Just realized there hasn't been a lot of feedback lately, sorry about that but let me assure you I do read these posts daily and I'm sure others do too.

No sweat, Nick. It'll be interesting to see how Guerra reacts to his first bad outing in AAA. Hopefully, he will take the ball again Tuesday and have a good outing.
