If Barron and Cox miracously survive till our pick who do we take?
Cox is good and fills a semi-need, but Barron is the best Safety in the draft...
Broncos be like:
Cox. I'm always in need of getting my hands on more Cox.
Toovs, let's duet.
Bears Trade Matt Forte to Browns for 22nd pick.
Round 1(19): Michael Brockers DT
Round 1 (22): Kendall Wright WR
Round 2: Amini Silatolu/Kevin Zeitler/Bobby Massie/Kelechi Osemele G/T
Round 3: Isaiah Peed RB
Round 4: Cam Johnson DE
Round 5: Bruce Irvin/Vontaze Burfict LB
Round 6: David Molk C
Round 7: BPA Secondary Player
Not too bad, I just don't see DT as such a pressing need to draft in the first few rounds especially considering he won't get much playing tome behind Paea, Melton, and Toeina.
This is how mine was would go...
1.) Quinten Coples DE (No brainer if he is here, great size and potential, and plus it's not Mercilus)
2.) Kelechi Osemele OT/OG (Suprising pick? With the loss of Omi suck, we have a hole in the line, we use a pick on a great prospect)
3.) Marvin Jones WR ( LOVE this guy, underrated and would be a great value in the 3rd)
4.) Chase Minnifield CB (Granted he's still here, put him as the 4th corner, see how Hayden plays out and have insurance for years to come)
5.) Janzen Jackson S ( Have a hole at safety we need to fill, I think 5th round is a good chance to fill it)
6.) Akiem Hicks DT (Guy from Canada, doesn't get as much hype, but I feel like he's a HUGE steal this late, great size and potential.)
7.) Vontaze Burficet LB (in the 7th round, why not? At once a 1st round prospect, I'll take the chance)
No ideas for the moment.
For anyone who is interested and just enjoys draft talk, Scott Wright of nfldraftcountdown (who's pretty legit) does a weekly podcast. Worth a listen. He had Greg Cosell on recently who really knows his stuff. Ive also come to realize that every scout, reputable source/insider loves Shea McClellin. I never really paid much attention bc he seemed just 3-4 but with the Bears really liking him supposedly I want to actually do some research.
From things I've read and heard, I think DE is a position that continues to push down further in to the 2nd Round. Coples and Perry seem to be falling a bit and players like Worthy, McClellin, Chandler Jones, moving into the late 1st Round/Early 2nd Round mix for D-linemen. I think that pushes more DL talent down the board.
I could see taking Brockers in the 1st and getting a DE like Branch or Curry in the 2nd Round.
Round 1: DT Brockers
Round 2: DE Curry or Branch
Round 3: WR Marvin Jones
Round 4: OL Kelemete
Round 5: LB Bruce Irvin or Vontaze Burfict
Round 6: C David Molk
Round 7: Best Secondary Player avail
Bears trade 1st(19)+6th+7th for Rams 2nd(33)+2nd(39)
2nd(33)- Shea McClellin DE Boise St
He reminds me a lot of Kerrigan from the skins, hes has a high motor and gets after the QB, and is good against the run as well.
2nd(39)- Jerel Worthy DT MSU
Bears need more depth after Adams and Okoye left, Worthy gives bears a disruptive presence inside.
2nd(50)- Kelechi Osemele OG Iowa St
Bears need more depth on the OL and Osemele is huge and is exactly the type of OL Tice loves, this could also allow Williams to maybe slide to LT.
3rd(79)- Trumaine Johnson FS/CB Montana
Bears resigned Jennings and signed Hayden, but we need depth at both CB and FS and Johnson can play both, hes a ball hawk.
4th(111)- Tommy Streeter WR Miami
Streeter is really tall and fast, thats 2 things Cutler loves. Hes the perfect project WR to groom behind Marshall. He will get a chance to get PT with Knox out and rotating Marshall possibly getting suspended.
5th(150)- Michael Egnew TE Mizzou
Bears need another recieiving TE now that Tice is the OC, Egnew is going to be a mismatch for most LBs guarding him.
