I need to stay out of the NHL forum. There are Flyer fans actually claiming we don't get penalties called against us. Sure we get away with some stuff and because Malkin and Sid are guilty too it seems 10x worse than it actually is but to say we don't get called? I guess if you missed the first 10 minutes it might seem that way but apparently an extended 5 on 3 to start the game doesn't count. Let's just dismiss that because it makes my argument seem stronger

fluery has stunk weak in 5 hole to many soft rebounds but are defensive zone play by both d men and forwards has also stunk need to fix that to win

Gross Power Play. I don't think we had any shots on goal. They controlled about 25-30 seconds of it. Game momentum mostly in Philly's favor so far.

Can't understand why we don't move up on the wall when they're pressuring the PP points so high up. They're over committed: that means the tops of the circles are yawning, and all we have to do is move up on the strong side and be in position to relieve the pointman under pressure. This is how we dealt with them last game: just create the 1-3-1 as the weakside point drops down.

Well that is not going to work. Giving them the defensive circles out to create speed makes that stupid 1-2-2 he had going superfluous. The high forechecker had no shot at the D moving at warp speed, so he gets by that FC and the rest of the defensive unit is collapsing in front of Fleury, on their heels.
