Yep, he wasn't cutting it here. He's not NHL ready at this point. Great pre-season, and 7 games experience. He can take that back to juniors, and be ready for the big league next season. Burmistrov was a big reason why this happened, since he's been playing the best hockey of his NHL career.
I wonder what they do for that third line centre. I'd assume Burmistrov is up. I'd also prefer to see Wellwood stay on the wing for now. I wonder if Antropov will try out the middle, or if Jim Slater will come up a line. Slater's an elite fourth liner, and I honestly think he could do it.
He wasn't going to stay with the club. Winnipeg's media over hyped him during the preseason.
Bound to do that when a rookie leads the league in preseason when this team just comes back for the first time in 15 years. The Jets media can, and will go nuts over everything. Gotta' applaud them for that, though.
After the TC thought he might stick, but when the season started he found it hard to adjust. Probably best for him, but would have liked to see more, but they only get 9 games, so too soon to tell. Hope he puts on 10 lbs of muscle and comes back stronger on his feet. Great eyes, but needs to be stronger!
So far in 40 games he's 49th in scoring in OHL with 20 goals and 34 assists for 54 points, but it should be noted that virtually every player ahead of him have played anywhere from 10 to 20 games more than him. Will be interested to see him in camp next year with more strength in is skating as it seems production has been very good this year, except the WJHC.
