Who do you guys think will win the jumping competition between GSP and Condit? I know Condit has been training really hard on his calves and GSP is always the most well rounded jumper in mma. Also do you think Rampage will be able to dunk harder then Texiera? Tex is a rising star, so who knows how high he can jump. Yeah sounds stupid here too.

Clay Guida Vs. Hatsui Hioki, Mike Russow Vs. Shawn Jordan, and Erik Koch Vs. Ricardo Lamas added to UFC on Fox 6

    http://www.mmatorch.com/artman2/publ...le_14923.shtml

Clay Guida's featherweight debut is set, as he'll head to the 145 lb. division for the first time on January 26 at UFC on Fox 6. According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times, Guida will take on longtime top-ranked featherweight Hatsu Hioki on the card, coming to Chicago's United Center.

In addition to that fight, Guida's fellow Chicago-based fighter Mike Russow will return to action as well, taking on Shawn Jordan, and the previously reported move of Erik Koch vs. Ricardo Lamas to the card was also confirmed.

"Chicago is a great fight town and we're excited to come back to the United Center on Jan. 26," UFC President Dana White said in a comment to the Sun-Times. "This will be our first big event on Fox for 2013 and we're lining up an incredible card. I can't wait to get back to Chicago for this event and I'm pumped to go back to Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, too!"
Thats a really tough fight for Guida's featherweight debut.

Hioki can't wrestle. Guida takes guys down and smothers them. I think Guida takes this.

It wasn't a bad card at all.

I was impressed with Johnson, that KO was nasty. It's just a matter of time before he's back with the UFC.

Word is, 7 fighters (including Houston Alexander) declined to fight Spong and I can't blame them, especially if they're not getting paid accordingly. The fight went as expected, except that his opponent was literally scared of him. It was kind of weird to watch, I think he threw one punch and he didn't even attempt a TD.

UFC confirms UFC on FUEL TV 7, UFC on FUEL TV 8 in Japan, UFC 157 in California

The UFC's spring plans are quickly materializing, and the promotion today confirmed a trio of previously reported fight cards for the first quarter of 2013.

As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) first reported, UFC 157 takes place Feb. 23 at the 15,000-seat Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

The promotion also confirmed a Feb. 16 event previously announced will serve as UFC on FUEL TV 7, though a venue for the fight card was not revealed. Additionally, officials revealed the March 3 event announced this past weekend will serve as UFC on FUEL TV 8.

The fight cards were confirmed on Tuesday's new edition of FUEL TV's "UFC Tonight."

The three fight cards take place on consecutive weekends, and the official announcement of the events now means the UFC has a run of six events in the seven weeks between "UFC on FX 7: Belfort vs. Bisping" on Jan. 19 and UFC on FUEL TV 8 on March 3.

The UFC hasn't hosted an event in Anaheim since UFC on FOX 1 a year ago. The show marked the UFC's debut on network television. In the headliner, Junior Dos Santos took the UFC heavyweight title from then-champ Cain Velasquez with a 64-second TKO. (The fighters are set to rematch next month at UFC 155.)

Honda Center also hosted UFC 121 (Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar) in 2010, UFC 76 (Chuck Liddell vs. Keith Jardine) in 2007, UFC 63 (Matt Hughes vs. B.J. Penn II) in 2006, and UFC 59 (Tim Sylvia vs. Andrei Arlovski II) in 2006.

Following this past Saturday's UFC on FUEL TV 6 event in Macao, UFC Executive Vice President and Managing Director of UFC Asia Mark Fischer said the promotion will hold an event in Japan on March 3. The event will take place on a Sunday in Japan at Saitama Super Arena, just north of Tokyo, for a Saturday night broadcast in the United States.

The UFC earlier this year held UFC 144 in Japan with a main event lightweight title fight between then-champion Frankie Edgar and challenger Benson Henderson. Henderson took the belt, then defended it in the rematch this past August. Also on the card, Ryan Bader beat longtime Japan favorite Quinton "Rampage" Jackson by unanimous decision. The rest of the card was heavy with fighters from Asia.

UFC 144 was the promotion's first trip to Japan since UFC 29 in 2000, which was in the pre-Zuffa era.
6 events in 7 weeks? That's crazy and as a fan, I love it.

Overeem eyes return at UFC 156 to face 'Bigfoot' Silva on Super Bowl weekend

The Ultimate Fighting Championship's annual major Super Bowl weekend card in Las Vegas just got a whole lot bigger.

Alistair Overeem is now expected to make his return to the cage against Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in a matchup of massive heavyweight contenders at UFC 156 at Mandalay Bay on Feb. 2, the Review-Journal has learned.

Overeem's appearance on the card is pending approval from the Nevada Athletic Commission as he is currently serving a nine-month suspension for an out-of-competition drug test conducted by the NAC that revealed elevated testosterone levels. The 32-year-old is eligible to re-apply for a license on Dec. 27.

"Come Dec. 27, he's like any other fighter," NAC executive director Keith Kizer said. "He's free to apply for his license. The commission will not do it administratively, however. He has to appear at a commission meeting."

The next commission hearing after that date will likely take place in early-to-mid January, according to Kizer.

Overeem is expected to request a license at that hearing.

"The commission can go any way they want to at that meeting. They could say yes, they could say no, they could say yes with conditions," Kizer said. "All of that will be on the table, but nothing can happen as far as licensure until after (Dec. 27)."

Kizer said he doesn't have a problem with a fight being promoted before a fighter is officially licensed as long as the public is aware of the potential for a denial of the license and therefore, a change to the event.

Overeem's return to action would make him an instant factor in the heavyweight title picture. Long ranked among the top fighters in the world, Overeem finally made his UFC debut last December with a first-round knockout of Brock Lesnar. Overeem was then slated to face Junior dos Santos for the heavyweight belt until the Dutch kickboxer failed a surprise NAC drug test that was administered at a March 27 press conference promoting the fight.

Silva is coming off a first-round knockout of Travis Browne last month.

The Overeem-Silva fight is not the only contest that will be added to what is shaping up to be a major event.

Light heavyweight contender Rashad Evans will take on Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Evans, the former champion, will look to rebound from a loss to champion Jon Jones in a light heavyweight title bout in April. Nogueira, the twin brother of heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, has been hampered by injuries and has not competed since a first-round knockout of Tito Ortiz last December.

The card also features a previously announced main event featherweight title bout between Frankie Edgar and champion Jose Aldo. Tickets for UFC 156 go on sale on Nov. 30.
If this is true, UFC 156 is looking amazing.

Should be a good fight, Silva has been asking for Overeem for a long time now, looks like he'll finally got his wish.

UFC 156 is going to be rediculous, IF all fighters stay healthy and all rumors are true obviously
