    Injuries*

    Code:
G Ilya Bryzgalov did not play once again. He suffered a chip fracture in his right foot during warmups Monday night against Tampa Bay. General manager Paul Holmgren said Bryzgalov is doubtful for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh as well.
D Andrej Meszaros had surgery to remove a disc fragment in his back on March 21. He is expected to miss 6-8 weeks, meaning a return wouldn't be likely until the second round of the playoffs.
RW Tom Sestito continues to rehab his groin. He had surgery for a tear on Feb. 21.
LW James van Riemsdyk had surgery on his broken left foot to insert a plate. He is on crutches, but is progressing in his rehab. He hopes to be back for the playoffs.
    Code:
D Kris Letang is day-to-day with a minor injury.
D Ben Lovejoy had surgery on his knee and is out three-to-four weeks.

I have this game on. Battle of the first round. This will be the best opening round series IMO.

Should we have traded jvr for a dmen? We neee a good second d line and now gross is out. Could have maybe helped in the short run but still....

ha no problem KJ. happy to relieve the thread duties to you

won't be on much aside from intermissions anyway being that the game is on TV.

another slow start to the game, but they're climbing their way back into it. Pens started getting real fancy at the end of the period there and the Flyers were taking advantage.

i say keep throwing pucks on net and looking for rebounds. Fleury doesn't look too solid today.

i am pretty concerned about Grossmann too. he didn't look good when he was coming off the ice. the team REALLY can't afford to lose him.

    UPDATE:

    Frank Seravalli ‏ @DNFlyers
Grossmann has a lower-body injury and will officially not return. Big blow for the Flyers, finishing the game with 5 D.

this is bad. i REALLY hope this isn't something that will keep him out long term.

We're good. Penguins are soft. Like their captain....anyone else see Crosby say he was sorry to G in the face off after he slashed G on the one before?

wow. HUGE save by Bob there to end the period. that could've been a real let down had that puck gone in.

much better 2nd period from the boys. the two periods have been complete opposites thus far.

sets up for a real tough 3rd.

i'm much more concerned about the no call on malkin for giving G a couple head shots while he was down on the ice with him.

i mean, really? the ref was RIGHT THERE.

Yea I know.....I've been saying...the NHL holds a grudge against us because we were the Broad St Bullies...

How do we least he league in Penalties AND Penalties against???

Tells you a lot about the consensus of the refs when they do our games.

Malkin has really become a ********. I don't remember him doing this stuff very much before this year, but every game this season against us he's taken at shots at someone like this. Oh and when someone finally does it back to him, I won't care one little bit when he's concussed and misses 30 games, he's got it coming to him.
