Hate to be that guy, but if you feel like digging through my 10 previous Flyers posts, probably 8 of them are a variation on "Briere is money in the playoffs."

    So... there you go.

    Love, love, love the guy.

Face facts. Flyers are down 1-0 if Danny isnt on the team.

Alot of people have been saying it all year, even funnier now that it's actually coming to fruition, Briere is the playoffs. Even when he's slumping, the immediate reply is "wait til the playoffs". Guys been a leader and a spark plug for this team and he never disappoints in the post-season. Maybe not worth the money he's getting but certainly around Hartnell's price.

    ^^^ what both said.

I dont run the franchise by any stretch of the imagination but if i did... I would think its pretty much a FACT that we WILL be making the playoffs....

that being said. I'd gladly play th 6.5 million to keep this guy here just because of the revenue he will bring in alone during the playoffs

It wouldn't be dropping Briere for any of that...it'd be for a defender to sure up our D...how'd you miss that point?

Agreed. You never know though, maybe if we're lucky enough he restructures his contract because he wants to stick with the team for at least the rest of his contract. I don't know if that's something that happens in the NHL, but I know it happens in the NFL when players are asked to do it. Danny B is our go to guy in the playoffs and a mentor to our young stars in the making. G lived with him last year and Couts is this year. He's far too valuable to cast off next year no matter what, or at least to me.

Flyers seem to be doing pretty well with contracts and the cap. I don't know all the ins and outs but he's a guy you keep around for the spring at almost any cost.

Homer seems to be developing quite an eye for young talent. As long as they mix youth/ cheap with veteran/ expensive I say keep on rolling.

What really burns my @$$ is that Pronger can't play.

I've heard it mentioned as a topic for the new CBA this offseason.

I really hope so. I hate that it isn't offered. Some players have so much respect for their teammates and organization that they wouldn't hesitate to help the team with some kind of pay cut.

Ask Hartnell if he'd take a small cut to help keep Jagr next year. see what he'd say.

    Leino for Briere?

"Hater" is a term used by weak minded people in the face of legitimate criticism.
