The loss of Wallace in no way puts us in rebuilding mode; hurts? Yes, but not enough to force a downward spiral

Hines Ward may do Steeler Nation one last favor. Reports are saying Ward will be talking with Mike Wallace about his future. Hopefully he can instill in him that being a Steeler and winning games is better than getting more money on a bad team.

Hines made it pretty clear today that he truly is a "Steeler for life" hopefully he can convince Wallace to do the same.

Wallace is gone, he is worth alot of money which the Steelers don't have. Harrison isn't going anywhere and they can't afford to sign Wallace to big time money without signing most of their free agents this year and next + draft picks.

Our best bet is to get a good pick for him. Wallace is expendable, our defense wins our games.

I think the Wallace Saga is going to keep up for another month. The tenders don't have to be signed until April 20, so I doubt Wallace will stop a team from considering him a month earlier than he has to. With all of the top UFA receivers off the market, teams could decide if he's worth their first rounder especially if they are targeting a WR in the first round anyways. I really do belive that his minimum price is above the Steelers max, or he would have been extended by now. Most of us thought $7-8 would get it done, but with the run on receivers this year Wallace has to be thinking $10+.

A couple years ago, i would have agreed about the defense. Even with the number one passing rating last year, teams were able to hang around way to easy, and the D lost us a couple last year.

Wallace is expendable in terms of everyone with the exception of Ben is expendable. It sucks losing good talent, but as long as we have Ben I like our chances.

Damn. One last favor, Hines Ward is talking to Mike Wallace. I love how he said he that. ****ing, LOVE HINES WARD.

As for Wallace, I wish you no success if you leave. That's just me, I wish you HEALTH, but not success.

    You better stay.

So dont get on me too bad for this.guys.but....how many of you would want Tebow.in.Black & Gold for a mid round pick?

I originally wanted us to draft.him when he was projected to be a 3rd round or later project.

    Hear me out:
    He's cheap.
We're likely to have a qb spot open due to the departure of Dixon.
He's a consummate teammate and professional.
Great leadership which is always welcome.
Plus we never know when Big Ben's time is up.
Tebow could help in our running game as well, he could bring that element of surprise we've been missing since mularkey left.
He could learn behind Ben. Most people say tebow will never learn how to.be a pocket qb. So why force that. Ben knows how to scramble and make the most out of.those plays. Maybe its something he could help Tebow with.
Tebow could maybe be a good influence to keep Ben out of trouble.

Anyone else on board? Im hoping it happens but I doubt it.

That'd be a waste of a pick; unless he is going to be a fullback or something.

    Steelers signed FB Will Johnson.
After using up his college eligibility in 2011, Johnson worked three jobs for the opportunity to impress scouts at West Virginia's Pro Day last week. The Steelers came away impressed after he blazed a 4.40 forty at 6'2/240 while leading all Volunteers with 30 reps on the bench press.

    Interesting...............A FB?

    What is Arians thinking???

    Oh yeah, he is gone!

We have three 7th round picks but two of them are compensatory and can't be traded. Still, wouldn't mind giving that one 7th for Tebow. We gave a 7th for Byron Leftwich two years ago. Tebow is 25 and should take plenty of time to learn how to throw while Roethlisberger is still in his prime, then when Roethlisberger can't play anymore let Tebow show how much he learned while riding the bench.

That said I obviously don't WANT it to happen and it has a popsicle's chance in hell of happening anyway.

Last year followed Ike Taylor's amazing season (Believe it or not, there were more games than the playoffs in Denver) This year, it's two at once with the...

    Heath Miller Watch
    68 receptions, 771 yards, 8 TDs

    Ben Roethlisberger Watch
    63.3%, 7.3 ypa, 261.2 ypg, 26 TDs, 8 INTs, 97 rating
