no. the kid will most likely earn a spot in camp next season, but he won't replace JVR.

JVR does a lot more for the offense than Wellwood does. Wellwood's a nice fourth line player right now, but I wouldn't want him filling Reemer's skates for a full season.

People are simply comparing how the two players are performing up to expectations rather than comparing their level of play.

Looking at what the Penguins did and have done in their games before and after Sunday's game only makes the win that much more impressive.

JVR did good in playoffs one season thats it. He still has not prove anything. I was just saying trade him for someone else thats all im not sold on the JVR thing thats all

Even if that were true, it's still more than Wellwood has done.

He has only played 14 games in the nhl give him time

you do know that wellwood and jvr are basically the same age, right?

JVR has much more offensive ability.

it's not a knock against wellwood, but just because JVR has had an injury-riddled season doesn't give you the right to replace him all together with someone else just because he's looked good in 14 games.

I think we need to give him some time before labeling him a top-six forward and better than JVR.

Don't get me wrong, I love the kid. People are just way too down on JVR. I guess with how many games he's missed this year it's easy to forget how he can single-handedly take over a game, even if he doesn't get his name on the score sheet.

Jagr's looked pretty bad ever since taking that hit from Letang.
