Jakub Kindl should be out tonight IMO. He looked brutal in his last outing. He's simply trying to do too much. I feel bad for the kid. He's an NHL defenseman, but there's really no room for him. Next season, Stuart's likely gone (So pissed), the possibility of Nick Lidstrom, but then Brendan Smith's likely to be up. If Lidstrom retires as well, I could see us grabbing Ryan Suter.

ABOUT THE RED WINGS (47-27-5): The Red Wings can’t finish higher than fourth in the Western Conference Standings, but can fall to sixth depending on the outcome of their final three games. Detroit, which closes out the season at home against New Jersey and Chicago, has dropped seven in a row on the road - its longest skid since an 11-game slide Jan. 7-Feb. 25, 1986. The Red Wings are an impressive 31-6-2 at Joe Louis Arena, but a dismal 16-21-3 on the road.

ABOUT THE BLUES (48-21-10): The Blues have already claimed their first division title since 2000 and are guaranteed one of the top two seeds in the West. St. Louis trails Vancouver in the race for the Presidents’ Trophy after dropping consecutive contests. "We don't really care right now how many points we've got,'' captain David Backes said recently about the team’s prospect of having the best record in the league. "The slate's wiped clean for playoffs, which is really the big picture.” The Blues have been nearly unbeatable at home, posting a league-best 30-5-4 record at Scottrade Center.

From the PSD game preview for tonite's game...Any one see the glaring mistake on home records...(hint, the misuse of "league-best")

What makes you think Stu's leaving? I've only heard that he really wants to stay in DET next year. The only way I can see him opting outta DET is if they do win the cup. Kindl will be playing tonite, since Q is suspended, I don't think Smith made the trip to ST.LO. Look for White to be with Kindl tonite, which could be a bad thing, since White is used to Lids backing him up when he mishandles the puck at the blue line. But I'd almost rather Big E be paired up with Lids, since I really don't trust E and Kindl together at this point.

Anyone think it's funny that Ny has 3 less points as Emmerton, yet Emmerton has played in like 58 more games? I just don't get why he's still up and why he's considered a viable center for the playoffs.

Brad Stuart has expressed interest in returning to California for family reasons. Bringing in Kyle Quincey to replace him was also another sign.

Oh, as for Kindl being out, I forgot about the KQ situation.

I wouldn't mind Kindl with Lidstrom for a bit.

The word on the street is Stuart is gone. It's a family decision and if'n I was a betting man I'd bet the farm on him being gone. Sucks because I really like what he brings every night.

I'm not an Emmerton hater I just think he's a big "meh". He never really impressed me in G.R. and he was out of options so it was make the team or be exposed. If Eaves hadn't got hurt he wouldn't even have made the roster IMO. I would much rather Connor be on this team over Emmerton but the argument is Emmerton is a center and will be playing until Helm gets back. Then he's on the Black Aces. This is the lineup I would love to see right now. Moving Franzen to center (which Babs will never do) as he's played center before.

    Nyquist-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi
    Filppula-Zetterberg-Hudler
    Miller-Franzen-Cleary
    Holmstrom-Abdelkader-Connor

    Me likey this lineup

Clears is a natural center too, so why keep Emmerton? I could really care less if he is exposed to other teams. Conner is the best 4th line option IMO.
