Last night was my first experience with a busy gym and to tell you the truth I dont know if it was annoying or comical. The way some people lift weights is borderline ******** and how any of these guys have a spine left is beyond me. I did take your advice and ask one dude who looked like he new what he was doing and he was more than happy to help. I did manage to get a good workout in none the less and it is going to take some time getting use to the nice eye candy and concentrate on the task at hand.

I've never once been annoyed at someone asking for advice or how to use something. Keep asking bro, it helps.

Ok today I took your advice in the gym and asked this big dude a question and well it went ok at first he was nice and helped out. But then he kept coming back to talk to me and wanted alternate sets on the equipment.......I am pretty sure he swings from the other side of the plate after some strange conversation. Thanks alot guys 20 hot chicks at the gym and one big dude takes a fancy in me. My luck is terrible.

I have been using the Smith machine to try and get better at squats and bench press is it ok to do this for awhile to gain strength then switch to free weights after I am stronger.

    Just the bars.

I bought a couple today at Play it Again Sports, along with some plates.

you are not going to learn the squat using the smith machine...use a barbell or a long stick.
